He is buried at Noble Cemetery, Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Rachel A. McDanel 2-7-1894 in Jersey County, IL. Theodore Calvin Fraley's wife Rachel A. McDanel was the daughter of Charles and Amanda (Dabbs) McDanel. Her father Charles McDanel was the son of Gregg McDanel and his wife Rachel (Cooper) McDanel who settled in Otter Creek township in the fall of 1828, on Sec. 7, where he lived for many years. Gregg McDanel constructed a dam and mill for sawing lumber on Otter Creek in 1828, and two years later a mill for grinding corn. Gregg McDanel came here from Madison county. He was born 4-9-1788 and died Sept. 17, 1859, leaving a large landed estate. His wife, Rachel (Cooper) McDanel, died May 16, 1861. Both are buried in the Noble cemetery, Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL.
Charles McDanel was born in Madison county, IL, 10-4-1827, and was one year old when his parents settled in this county. He was a farmer and owned more than 1400 acres, and also worked in a saw and grist mill. He received a good education, attending the district school and afterwards Shurtleff College, at Upper Alton. In November, 1865, he was married to Amanda Dabbs, who was born in Otter Creek township 2-27-1843. Charles and Amanda (Dabbs) McDanel were the parents of eight children - Sarah Leonora McDanel, Rachel A. McDanel, Charles G. McDanel, Georgiana McDanel, Ada Maria McDanel, Mark L. McDanel, William R. McDanel, and Grace Adella McDanel.

She was born in 1895 in Jersey County, IL, and died in 1990 in Jersey County, IL She is buried in Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley had 6 children-Stewart Fraley, Herbert Stanley Fraley, Wilbert Theodore Fraley, Leland Fraley, Bertha Fraley, and Augusta Fraley who died in infancy.
(Note: Earl Raymond Fraley's wife Effie (McDow) Fraley was a teacher in the Jersey County, IL school district for many years. She was my sister Mildred (Westfall) Alben's teacher at the Franklin School in English Township in the early 1930's. The Franklin School was a one room school house that my mother Lovie (Kraushaar) Westfall had also attended from about 1910 to 1918. Mrs. Fraley also taught at Buckeye School in Otter Creek township, and other one roomed school houses in the area.)

Theodore and Rachel (McDanel) Fraley's son Earl Raymond Fraley's obituary - Earl Raymond Fraley, 74, a rural Jerseyville resident and former member of the Jersey County Board of Supervisors for 12 years, died suddenly at his home on January 8, 1969. Visitation was held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Services were held at Fieldon United Church of Christ. Rev. Leonard Todd of Moro officiated and burial was in Fieldon cemetery.
Though Mr. Fraley and been ill for several years, his death was unexpected. Mr. & Mrs. Fraley had been in Jerseyville Wednesday afternoon and upon returning to their home he said he would rest before the evening meal. His breathing attracted Mrs. Fraley's attention and she summoned help. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jersey Community hospital. A son of the late Theodore C. & Rachel (McDanel) Fraley, the former official of Otter Creek township, was born in Montgomery County. He was engaged in farming for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie (McDow) Fraley; 1 daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hearty of Jerseyville; 4 sons, Stewart Fraley of Fieldon, Stanley and Wilbert Fraley of Jerseyville and Leland Fraley of Carrollton; 19 grandchildren; 7 g-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Warren Fraley of East Alton, Frank Fraley of Litchfield, Lewis Fraley of Chicago, and Estel Fraley of Carrollton. 1 brothers, Mark preceded him in death. Mr. Fraley was a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ; Fieldon Lodge, 592, AF & AM; and the consistory Masonic services were held at the Funeral Home.

(1aa) Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley's son Stewart Fraley's obituary - Stewart Fraley, 85, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Alton. He was the son of the late Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley. He married Helen L. White on Dec. 27, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo. She died March 3, 1995. He was a lifelong farmer and also worked with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 11 years. He was a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ and Fieldon Masonic Lodge 592.
Surviving are a sister, Bertha Vogler of Jerseyville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbert and Violet Fraley and Stanley and Maurita Fraley, all of Jerseyville, and Leland and Theresa Fraley of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation were from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with Masonic services by the Fieldon Masonic Lodge at 4 p.m. Visitation continued from 9:30 until the 10 a.m. services on Thursday at Fieldon United Church of Christ, with Dr. Donald J.W. Burkhalter officiating. Burial was at White Cemetery near Otterville. Memorials may be made to the church or to White Cemetery.

Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley's son Herbert Stanley Fraley's obituary - Herbert Stanley Fraley, 88, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at his residence after a period of declining health. He was born on the family farm near Fieldon on Oct. 27, 1922, the fourth of five children born to Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley. Stanley was raised with the rest of his siblings on the farm, and he graduated in 1941 from Jersey Township High School. Throughout his life, he was blessed to be able to continue doing what he loved most, and that was being a successful farmer, and being surrounded by his family while doing so. He was a proud member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and was a lifetime member of the Jerseyville Moose Lodge. He married the former Maurita B. Goetten on Jan. 29, 1947, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fieldon. Together they shared 64 years of marriage, raising their six children, Charles, Danny, Randy, Marlene, Delbert and Gerald, in a farm environment and shared many happy memories together. During their 64 years of marriage Stanley and Maurita were blessed with a good life, only recently being dealt hard blows with the death of their son Daniel and son-in-law, Robert Johns.
Surviving are his wife, Maurita Fraley of Jerseyville; a daughter, Marlene Johns of Jerseyville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Deb Fraley of Jerseyville, Randy and Jill Fraley of Grafton, Delbert and Marian Fraley of Kampsville and Gerald and Paula Fraley of Trivoli; a daughter-in-law, Janice Fraley of Jerseyville; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Theresa Fraley of Carrollton and Violet Fraley of Jerseyville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel R. Fraley on Dec. 20, 2009; a son-in-law, Robert Johns on June 18, 2010; a grandson-in-law, Aaron Hubbell; a sister, Bertha Vogler; and three brothers, Stewart Fraley, Wilbert Fraley and Leland Fraley. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville with Father William Hembrow officiating. Burial will be in the Noble Cemetery in Otterville. Stanley Fraley's wife Maurita (Goetten) Fraley's father Henry J. Goetten's obituary - Henry J Goetten, 77, retired farmer, who has resided in Jerseyville for 16 years, died December 28, at St. Joseph hospital, Alton. Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary church, with Fr William Hembrow celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary cemetery. Born June 2, 1901 in Jersey county, he was the son of Henry & Barbara (Strasser) Goetten. He was a former Supervisor of English Township and former Auditor of Jersey Township. He was a member of St. Mary church, West Woods, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge and had served on the Jersey County Memorial hospital board. His survivors are his wife, Margaret (Schmieder) Goetten; 2 daughters, Mrs Maurita Fraley and Mrs Rosalie Hansen of Jerseyville; 4 sons, Roger, Richard and Wilfred of Jerseyville and Norbert of Carrollton; 1 sister, Mrs Helen Bauer, Jerseyville; 28 grandchildren; 12 g-grandchildren. His parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters preceded him in death. The rosary and ceremony of K of C were held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville.

(1aaa) Stanley and Maurita (Goetten) Fraley's son Daniel Fraley's obituary - Daniel Fraley, 61, died unexpectedly at 10:53 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born in Alton on Dec. 20, 1948, and was one of five children born to Stanley and Maurita (Goetten) Fraley of Jerseyville. He graduated in 1966 from Jersey Community High School and attended Canton Community College for a short time. On Aug. 25, 1967, at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, he married the former Janice Goodman. Together they have shared 42 years together and the joys that come with raising their family of three children and now, six grandchildren. Danny worked at Canham Sheet Metal in Alton alongside his father-in-law, for a short time before moving to the farm in Fieldon Hollow. Together, the Fraley family lived there for 39 years, farming and raising livestock, on the farm that his Uncle Stew and Aunt Helen rented to them and later sold to Danny and Janice. Stew and Helen thought the world of Danny and treated him like the child they never had. They gave him the start of one of his passions in life, farming. Danny has farmed alongside his son, Jeff, for the past several years. Together they have farmed with Danny planting the straightest rows of corn you could find. His wife, Janice, says that "he was the best farmer she knew." He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fieldon for the past 40 years, serving as a trustee for the Church farm. He was also the supervisor of Rosedale Township, served on the Jersey County Grain Board and was a Jersey Community Unit 100 school board member for eight years, presenting his children their diplomas at graduation.
Danny and Jeff received the Farm Family of the Year 1998 Award, something that he was very proud of. He was also a member of the Pheasants Forever, which was also one of his loves, having hunted pheasants in Kansas for many years, and here lately in North Dakota, having just returned from there in the last week. Surviving are his parents, Stanley and Maurita Fraley of Jerseyville; his wife, Janice Fraley of Jerseyville; his three children and their spouses, Amy and Danny Phipps, Jeff and Shannon Fraley, and Amber and Christian Bruns, all of Jerseyville; a granddaughter, Katelyn Phipps; five grandsons, Andrew Phipps, Collin and Caleb Fraley, Austin and Alex Hubbell; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Robert Johns of Jerseyville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Deb Fraley of Jerseyville, Randy and Jill Fraley of Grafton, and Delbert and Marion Fraley of Kampsville. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Aaron Hubbell; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Lois Goodman; a nephew, Nick Goodman, his Uncle Stew and Aunt Helen Fraley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, Ed and John. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. (1aaaa) Daniel and Janice (Goodman) Fraley's daughter Amber (Fraley) Hubbell's husband Aaron Andrew Hubbell's obituary - Aaron Andrew Hubbell, 27, joined his heavenly father on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia and its complications. A 1998 graduate of Marquette High School, he attended William Jewell University on a soccer scholarship and was honored with many awards, including team captain. He was a dedicated employee at Centric Group in St. Louis for the past four years. He loved life, and his wife and children were his most cherished gifts. Despite his illness, he continued to bring inspiration and joy to his family and friends. He was a hero to all who knew him well. We will miss him deeply, although he will live on in our hearts forever.
He was the loving husband of Amber (Fraley) Hubbell; devoted father of Austin and Alex; cherished son of Stephen and Patricia (Biederman) Hubbell; son-in-law of Daniel and Janice Fraley of Fieldon; brother of the late Stephen Hubbell, Michael Hubbell and his fiance, Christina Kersting and Lindsey (Hubbell) and Bradley Merkel of Chicago; brother-in-law of Danny and Amy Phipps and Jeff and Shannon Fraley of Jerseyville; dear grandson of Oliver and Edith Biederman; nephew, cousin, uncle, sincere friend and soccer teammate to many. (2aaa) Stanley and Maurita (Goetten) Fraley's daughter Marlene (Fraley) Johns's husband Robert Johns's obituary - Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville for Robert L. Johns. Mr. Johns, 55, died June 18 at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born November 20, 1954 in Alton, the son of Bobby and Velma (Brown) Johns. He married the former Marlene Fraley in 1975. He worked as a machinist at Owens-Illinois Brockway in Godfrey for 26 years until the plant closed in 2006. He was then employed at GKN Aerospace in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; three sons, Gregory Johns of Jerseyville; Doug Johns of Grafton and Brian Johns of Chicago; a grandson, Dylan; a sister, Vallie (Jeff) Declue of Jerseyville; two brothers, Tony (Sally) Johns of Godfrey and Jeff Johns of Jeresyville; his wife's brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Noble Cemetery in Otterville. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association, Otterville Hamilton School Memorial Fund or Noble Cemetery.

His burial was at Grimes Neely Cemetery in Jersey County, IL. He married 1st the former Neva Stone, who died July 27, 1993. He married 2nd Violet (Boomer) Phipps on July 29, 1995. He farmed on the family farm in English Township near Fieldon, IL where he lived for nearly 50 years with his family. He served as the English Township road commissioner for several years then began working for the Illinois Secretary of State's Office as the facilities manager. He later retired and moved to Jerseyville, IL. Wilbert Fraley and his first wife Neva (Stone) Fraley had 3 children-Anita Fraley, Sue Fraley, and Earl Fraley.
(Note: Wilbert Fraley's 2nd wife Violet (Boomer) Phipps Fraley is a sister to Ethel (Boomer) Shults McGowen who's first husband William Henry Shults was my mother Lovie (Kraushaar) Westfall's cousin. His mother Catherine (Weisner) Shults was a half sister to my mother's father Charles Kraushaar.)

Earl and Effie (McDow) Fraley's son Wilbert Theodore Fraley's obituary - Wilbert Theodore Fraley, 86, died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at his home with his family by his side. Born July 10, 1920, in Jersey County, he was the son of Earl R. and Effie A. (McDow) Fraley. On Aug. 9, 1941, he married the former Neva Stone, who died July 27, 1993. He married the former Violet (Boomer) Phipps on July 29, 1995. She survives. The 1938 graduate of Jersey Community High School worked at Shell Oil Refinery for several years then moved to the family farm in English Township near Fieldon, where he lived for nearly 50 years with his family. He served as the English Township road commissioner for several years then began working for the Illinois Secretary of State's Office as the facilities manager. He later retired and moved to Jerseyville. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and a 60-year member of the Fieldon Masonic Lodge 592. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and his daily trip to eat at the Round Table at Fran & Marilyn's.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Paul Rose and Sue and Don Rongey, all of Jerseyville; a son, Earl Fraley of Franklin, Texas; two stepsons and their wives, Marion and Donna Phipps and Ronnie and Connie Phipps, all of Jerseyville; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Pat Hatem of Racine, Wis., Sandra and Jeff Roberts of Dow, Rod and Julie Brangenberg of Godfrey, Tammi and Mike Miller of Perry Hall, Md., Melissa Fraley of Kennewick, Wash., Brad Fraley and Brian Fraley, both of Jerseyville, Steve and Tracey Downey of Crownsville, Md., and Jackie Lorsbach and her fiance, Andy Baalman, of Hardin; five stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Pam Phipps of Florissant, Jeff and Wendy Phipps, Danny and Amy Phipps, Ashley Bick and Russell and Dena Phipps, all of Jerseyville; 13 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Maurita Fraley of Jerseyville and Leland and Theresa Fraley of Carrollton. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Stewart Fraley, and his wife, Helen; and a sister, Bertha Vogler.

(1aaaa) Wilbert Fraley's grandaughter Julie Brangenberg's husband Rodney Brangenberg's father Roy Merlin Brangenberg's obituary - Roy Merlin Brangenberg, 71, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hardin, enfolded in the loving embrace of his family. He had bravely battled intestinal cancer for eight years. A dearly loved and admired husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Sharon, whom he married Aug. 13, 1988, and his three children and their families: daughter Pat Hatom of Racine, Wisc., and her children, Sam and Maria; daughter Sandra and son-in-law, Jeff Roberts, of Dow and their children, Nellie, William and Edward; and son, Rodney and daughter-in-law, Julie, Brangenberg of Jerseyville and their children, Jack, Joe and Rose. He is also survived by his stepson, Cris Clendenny, and his daughter, Ashleigh, and his stepson, Cary. Roy was born on Feb. 23, 1937, at his home in Kampsville to William "Bud" and Nellie Brangenberg who preceded him in death. He graduated from Hardin High School in 1954 after playing both baseball and basketball for four years. Upon graduation, he attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture in 1958.
Upon graduation from college, Roy was employed in the fertilizer business in East St. Louis and soon thereafter enlisted in the United States Army, where he served first on active duty and later on reserve duty. After his active duty, Roy served as a meat inspector for the city of St. Louis prior to returning home to Kampsville to join his father in working, managing and expanding the family farm. He farmed several hundred acres and raised livestock for the remainder of his career while raising his three children. Roy was a devout Christian and was active in the Summit Grove and Kampsville Presbyterian Church in Kampsville throughout his life. After returning to Kampsville, he played baseball in a men's league and then played softball in various leagues for more than 30 years. Roy enjoyed bowling in leagues at least twice a week and was an avid sports fan - ever loyal to and knowledgeable about the Cardinals and the Fighting Illini. Friends may pay their respects to him and his family at the visitation, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kampsville, followed by internment at Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville. Roy's family wished to express their profound and heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Saint Anthony's Hospice and the Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their affectionate devotion to and compassionate care for Roy during his illness. Mr. Fraley served his country in the Korean Conflict as a Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed farmer all his life, first in Macoupin Co. near Shipman and moving to Greene Co. in 1964 where he and his wife purchased the farm near Carrollton where she still lives. He farmed for several years in a partnership with his brother and best friend: Raymond, until his retirement in 1996. After retirement he raised poultry and produced a huge garden until a few months before his death. He and his wife were members of the Jersey County Grand Squares square dance club for nearly 20 years. He truly enjoyed enjoying watching television, especially Wheel of Fortune and sporting events. He enjoyed nature to the fullest, including all plants and bird watching. But above all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Carrollton Methodist Church and Greene Co. Farm Bureau.

Pearl Roady's wife Effie (Wandrei) Roady Springman's obituary - Effie (Wandrei) Roady Springman, 89, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was born July 17, 1915, to Phillip and Minda (Likes) Wandrei. She grew up in Fieldon and attended Pleasant Cove School. She married Pearl Roady on Nov. 25, 1933. He is deceased. She married John C. Springman on Sept. 21, 1957, in Jerseyville. He died Sept. 30, 1970. A loving mother and homemaker, she was also an avid gardner and well-known for her huge vegetable garden, always bordered by beautiful flowers. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Jerseyville.
Survivors include a daughter, Hilda, and her husband, Gerald, Hoffstetter of Schenectady, N.Y.; two sons, Phillip Roady and his wife, Deanne, of Taylorville, Ill., and Edwin Roady and his wife, Susan, of Taft, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Pam Roady of Jerseyville; a son-in-law, Bill Mueller of O'Fallon, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Howard "Charlie" Roady; a daughter, Frances Mueller; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Roady; a granddaughter, Dawn Roady; and a great-grandson, Brian Berdan. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Visitation continued from 10:30 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Jerseyville. Pastor Patrick Harper officiated. Burial was at Fieldon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Jerseyville.

(1aa) Pearl and Effie (Wandrei) Roady's son Howard L. "Charlie" Roady's obituary - Howard L. "Charlie" Roady, 66, died at 3:32 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at his home after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Fieldon to Effie (Wandrei) Springman of Jerseyville and Pearl Roady. He married the former Pam Wingo on April 18, 1968, in Jerseyville. She survives. A 1956 graduate of Jersey Community High School, he soon entered the U.S. Navy, where he served his country during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Columbus. A very active and dedicated member of the Jerseyville community, he was a 25-year member of the Moose Lodge 695 andthe Elks Lodge 954, was instrumental in the formation of the Jerseyville D.A.R.E. program and was a longtime member of the Jerseyville Chamber of Commerce, serving as president in 1989. He was a general contractor most of his life, owning and operating Roady Construction for more than 30 years. Later, he also included the First Check Home Improvement Service, as well as a real estate agent through Homes of America Realty.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, who lives in Jerseyville; six sons and daughters-in-law, Mike of Boring, Ore., Waney and Lorrie Roady of Kane, Kyle Roady of Jerseyville, Rodney Roady of Farmington Hills, Mich., Ricky and Jenny of Brightwood, Ore., and Mitchell Roady at home; 10 grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Deanne Roady of Taylorville, Ill.,and Edwin and Susan Roady of Taft, Calif; and a sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Gerald Hoffstetter of Schnectady, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Dawn Louise Roady, on Feb. 27, 1983; a sister, Rosalie Frances Mueller; maternal grandparents, Phillip and Minda Wandrei; and paternal grandparents, Solomon and Rosetta Roady.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville. Father D. Patrick Gibbons officiated. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, with military graveside rites conducted by the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492. Memorials may be given to St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools or to the Jerseyville D.A.R.E. program.

She was born May 7, 1943, in Jerseyville to Effie (Roady) Springman and Pearl Roady. She was an office manager for Hall State Realty in St. Louis for 16 years.
She is survived by her mother, who lives in Jerseyville; her husband, William J. Mueller of O'Fallon, Mo.; two daughters, Michele McCallister of Overland and Laura Lyons of St. Louis; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Carol Lyon Jr. of O'Fallon, Mo.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Roady and his wife, Pam, of Jerseyville, Phillip Roady and his wife, Deanne, of Taylorville, Ill., and Edwin Roady and his wife, Susan, of Taft, Calif.; and a sister, Hilda Hoffstetter,and her husband, Gerald, of Schnectady, N.Y.

Funeral services were held March 31 at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville with Rev. Garold Cooper officiating. Burial was in Kane cemetery. Memorials may be given to charity of one's choice.

Raymond T. Roady's wife Dorothy (Willis) Roady's obituary - Dorothy (Willis) Roady, 91, died at 3:44 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. She was born in English Township, Jersey County, on June 24, 1919, the last surviving child born to the late Algie and Dollie (Turner) Willis. She married Raymond Roady on Feb. 22, 1945, in Granite City. He died March 28, 1980. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, including Ruth Ann Dunham and her husband, Richard, of Kane, and several great-nieces and nephews, including Evan Jones and his wife, Kina, of Jerseyville and Andrea Craigmiles, and her husband, Darin, of Kane. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Willis, Rayburn Willis and Wayne Willis; and five sisters, Eva Fink, Allie Krueger, Irma Croxford, Amy Willis and Hazel Shanks. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the activity department at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.

(2) Campbell G. and Angeline A. (Williams) Roady's daughter Charlotte B. (Roady) Daniels's obituary - Charlotte B. (Roady) Daniels, born 06-09-1893, Jersey County, Illinois, died 05-1967, buried Kane cemetery. Charlotte B. Daniels, 73, of Alton, died at noon Thursday at St. Anthony Hospital. She had been in ill health since November and a patient for 12 days. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at Staten Chapel in Alton. Rev. Merle Stanton of Jamesport, Missouri, officiated and burial was in Kane cemetery.
Mrs Daniels was a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. (Campbell) Roady and was born in Jersey County on September 6, 1893. She attended Fidelity schools and was married at Fidelity on September 6, 1911, to Charles E. Daniels. Mrs Daniels had been a resident of Alton since 1921. The death of her husband occurred in December 1963.
Surviving her are 3 sons, Charles, Jr., James and William, and 3 daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Mead, Mrs. Muriel Harshbarger and Mrs. Frank Greenwell, all of Alton; 1 sister, Mrs. Alice Downs of Jerseyville and 1 brother, J. C. Roady of Sullivan, Indiana, 34 grandchildren and 36 g-grandchildren.

Elder Paul Higbey, pastor of Roxana Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in Upper Alton cemetery. Mrs Grant was a daughter of the late Campbell G & Angeline (Williams) Roady. She was born in Jerseyville on December 28, 1877. She had resided in Alton since the early 1900's. She was the wife of George Grant, who with 3 of her own children preceded her in death. She had been the mother of 4 children and foster mother to 2.
Surviving are 1 Son, Otis L Roady of Decatur. The foster children are Harold Fugate of Tulsa, OK, 22 whom Mrs Grant had reared since he was 2 and Ernest Lee Wyatt of Alton, 11 who was at the Grant home since he was 2 months. A granddaughter, Mrs Mary Ehlers, Godfrey came to live with her grandmother at the age of 9 months. Also surviving are 1 brother, Elder J C Roady, Evangelist of the Church of Christ at Sullivan, IN; 3 sisters, Mrs George Downs of Jerseyville, Mrs Roy Lawrence of Bethalto and Mrs Charles Daniels Sr. of Alton, 34 grandchildren and 57 g-grandchildren.

His wife, the former Lucy Roady, whom he married at Fidelity in 1907, and a daughter, Mrs. Marie Hazzard, preceded him in death.
