Barton S. Morrison
Barton S. Morrison was born 5-20-1834 in Kentucky, and he died 8-10-1900 in Jersey Co., IL. He was buried in Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey Co., IL. He married Eliza J. Bethell 11-8-1866 in Jersey Co., IL. She was born 12-19-1839 in Kentucky, and died 8-28-1897 in Jersey Co., IL. She was buried in Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey Co., IL. Barton S. Morrison and Eliza J. (Bethell) Morrison had these children-George H. Morrison, Joel E. Morrison, and Thomas E. "Bert" Morrison. There may have been other children.

He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Matilda "Tillie" A. Andris in Jersey County 12-9-1899. She was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Bernius) Andris. She was born 1-30-1879 in Jersey County, IL. She died in April 1966 in Jersey County, IL. She is buried at Gunterman Cemetery. George and Tillie (Andris) Morrison had 4 children-Lawrence F. Morrison, George Bert Morrison, Sylvester A. Morrison, and Lida Marie Morrison.

George H. Morrison's wife Matilda "Tillie" (Andris) Morrison's obituary - Died 04-00-1966. Dated 4/14/66: Mrs. Tillie Andris Morrison of Fieldon died at seven-thirty o'clock Monday morning at Waters Nursing Home in Jerseyville where she had been a patient the past five days. Friends may call a Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon at the United Church of Christ in Fieldon. Rev. Leonard Todd, former pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Gunterman cemetery. Mrs. Morrison, a lifelong resident of Jersey County, was born January 30, 1879, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Bernius Andris. Her husband, George H. Morrison, preceded her in death. Surviving Mrs. Morrison are three sons, Sylvester of Jerseyville, and Lawrence and Bert of Fieldon; one daughter, Mrs. Herschel (Lida) Medford of Fieldon; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Antrae of Jerseyville and Mrs. Bertha Sprich of Alton. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Majorie Harmon 2-16-1935 in Marion, IL. He farmed in the Fieldon, IL area. Lawrence and Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison had 9 children-Gary Morrison of Fieldon, IL, Karen Morrison who married Pat Heitzig of Alton, IL, Janet G. Morrison who married Richard W. Gilworth 10-10-1959 and lives in Jerseyville, IL, Carol Morrison who married Tom Vogel of Creve Coeur, MO, Patricia Morrison who married Bob Wietzel of Ardmore, IL, Barbara Morrison who married Sam Scott of Kirkwood, MO, Beverly (Morrison) Phillips of Alton, IL, George Morrison (deceased) lived in Taylorville, IL, born 4-26-1945, died 5-24-1993, and he is buried in Gunterman Cemetery, and Connie Sue Morrison (deceased) married Gene Parsell, and lived in Jerseyville, IL.

George and Tillie (Andris) Morrison's son Lawrence F. Morrison's obituary - Lawrence Morrison was born September 6, 1906, in Jersey County to the late George and Tillie (Andrus) Morrison. He married Marjorie Harmon on February 16, 1935 in Marion. He was a farmer and a member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ. He served on Community Unit No. 100 school board from 1948 to 1954 and on the Farm Bureau Board, Nutwood Drainage and Levee District and Farmers Livestock Association. He was a trustee of Gunterman cemetery, Noble of Illini Shriners (Ainad Temple) and a past master of Fieldon Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Fieldon; Sons Gary of Fieldon and George of Taylorville; daughters Janet Gilworth and Connie Parsell both of Jerseyville, Karen Heitzig of Alton, Barbara Scott of Kirkwood, Missouri, Carol Vogel of Creve Coeur, Missouri, Beverly Phillips of Godfrey and Patricia Morrison of Florissant, Missouri; brother Bert Morrison of Jerseyville; sister, Lida Medford of Fieldon; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter. Visitation and Masonic services were June 11 at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The funeral was June 12 there with the Rev. Jean Erb officiating. Burial was in Gunterman cemetery. Memorials have been established to Fieldon United Church of Christ, Shriners Children's Hospital and Jersey Community hospital.

(1a) Lawrence F. and Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison's daughter Connie Sue Parsell's obituary - 01/12/2002 -- Connie Sue Parsell, 58, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis County. Born Sept. 23, 1943, in Alton, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence F. and Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison. She was reared on the family farm near Fieldon and graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1961 and attended Southern Illinois University. She married Gene Parsell Nov. 20, 1965, at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, and they enjoyed 36 years together. A homemaker, she enjoyed being at home with her family and grandchildren, and, in her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking and playing cards.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Clara and Dr. Nizar Assi of Town and Country, Mo., and Julie Parsell of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Tara, Talia, Sami and Grace Assi; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Joyce Morrison of Fieldon; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Richard Gilworth of Jerseyville, Barbara and Sam Scott of Kirkwood, Mo., Carol and Tom Vogel of Creve Coeur, Mo., Beverly Phillips, Karen and Pat Heitzig, all of Alton, and Patricia and Bob Wietzel of Ardmore, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Morrison. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fieldon United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Gunterman Cemetery, near Fieldon. Memorials may be given to the Connie Morrison Parsell Scholarship Fund, which will assist young health career students.

(Note: George Bert Morrison farmed in the Fieldon, IL area. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. He owned a farm across the road from our farm. My parents and other people in the Fieldon area called him by the nickname of "Hoochey" or "Hoochie" Morrison. I think my parents said George Bert Morrison's father was called by that nickname also.)

He was a retired farmer. Born in Fieldon on September 25, 1909 he was the son of the late George H. and Tillie (Andris) Morrison. He married the former Vivian M. Willis on November 26, 1954 in Hernando, Miss. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Charlene Pohlman of Granite City; two grandchildren; two great-grand children; and a Sister, Lida Medford of Fieldon. Preceding him in death were a son, dennis Morrison; and two brothers, Sylvester and Lawrence Morrison. Visitation is from 4 to 9 pm Wednesday at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services are at 10 am Thursday. The Rev. Rick Francis will officiate. Burial is in Oak Grove cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ of Fieldon, where he was a member.

George Bert Morrison's wife Vivian M. "Ma" (Willis) Morrison's obituary - Vivian M. "Ma" Morrison, 98, formerly of the Fieldon and Jerseyville area, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Granite Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born July 13, 1913, in Caruthersville, Mo., a daughter of Milton Vivian Willis and Margaret (Gentry) Shanks. She married George Berton Morrison in November 1954 in Hattiesburg, Miss. He preceded her in death in 1991. She and her husband enjoyed their many years farming in Fieldon and were both members of the Fieldon United Church of Christ. She enjoyed her days of crappie fishing, needlework, and cooking and will be remembered for sharing her 98 years of life to others. She was always sharing her knowledge and wisdom with others and was a great inspiration for the younger generation that her life embraced.
She is survived by one daughter, V. Charlene (Wilson) Pohlman; grandchildren, V. Rochelle "Shelly" Pohlman-Shipley and her husband, Tom Shipley and Eugene R. Pohlman; great-grandchildren, R.J. Barrios and his wife, Brittany Barrios, Anthony Barrios, Robert Shipley and Amy Shipley; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Vivian Lee Barrios and Saleen Ann Marie Scaturro; several nieces; nephews; and other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Raymond Wilson; and nine brothers and sisters, Emery, Minnie, Russell, William, Ethel, Elmer, Helen, Mildred and Margaret. In celebration of her life, visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, in Granite City and will continue from 11:30 a.m. until graveside services at noon, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, both on Thursday, Aug. 25. The Rev. Barbara Alley will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Granite City Park District and may be accepted at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Stella Willis, Jerseyville, his mother, Mrs Shanks, 1 daughter, Mrs Dale Mohr, Medora, 1 son, Bernard M Willis, Ontario, CA, 1 stepson, Gilbert Lewis, Scottsdale, AZ, 6 sisters, Mrs Eugene Shields and Mrs Minnie Brooks, Jerseyville Mrs Mildred Tabor, St. Louis, Mrs Bert Morrison, Fieldon, Mrs John Cecil and Mrs Pete Bonds, Patton, MO; 3 brothers, Elmer "Bud" Willis, Jerseyville, Russell Willis, Brighton, and Emery Willis, Carrollton; and 10 grandchildren. He married Edna Dabbs, the daughter of Lester Franklin Dabbs and Ella May (Beach) Dabbs. Burial will be in the Gunterman cemetery in the Fieldon vicinity. His death occurred at 12:20 am. On November 29 at Jersey Community hospital. He was born November 23, 1900 in Jersey County, a son of George H. and Tillie Andres Morrison, and was a retired painter. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Charlene Morgan, Jerseyville, Mrs. Roland (Esther) Turner, Jacksonville and Roger Leslie Morrison, Roodhouse; two brothers and a sister, Lawrence F. Morrison and Mrs. Lida Medford of Fieldon and Bertram Morrison of Missouri; six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday, November 30 at Gubser Funeral Home. The family has designated the American Cancer society as a memorial.

The body was brought to Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville where friends called. Services were held at the Funeral Home Tuesday, March 16, at 1:30 pm with Rev. Cleo Zinn officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. Mr Dabbs was born in Jersey County, August 29, 1890, a son of the late Linly & Rosetta (Johnson) Dabbs. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ella Dabbs; 2 sons, Sherman and Dwight Dabbs of Jerseyville; 1 daughter Mrs. Sylvester (Edna) Morrison of Jerseyville; 10 grandchildren; 11 g-g-grandchildren; and 1 brother Arthur Dabbs.

He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. Herschel and Lida (Morrison) Medford had a daughter, Doris (Medford) Spangle of Tucson, Arizona.

She was buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey Co., IL. Joel E. Morrison married 2nd Nancy "Nannie" Reddish born 2-16-1888, and died 6-6-1966. Joel E. Morrison's wife Nancy "Nannie" (Reddish) Morrison's mother Mary (Chance) Reddish's obituary - Died 08-03-1952. Mary Reddish, 87 years, 8 months, 15 days, widow of Zeddock Reddish, died at 11 am Saturday, March 8. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday, March 10, at the family home, 307 Hickory St., Jerseyville. Rev. M. Edwards Breed, pastor of First Presbyterian church officiated and interment was in Reddish cemetery. Mrs. Reddish had been in ill health for some time and had been bedfast for the past 3 years. She was a daughter of the late Henry & Emeline (Cope) Chance and was born in Jersey County, June 23, 1864. She had lived in Jersey County all her life. Surviving are : 2 sons, Jacob H. Reddish of Jerseyville, and Zed C. Reddish of Chicago; 3 daughters, Mrs. Joel Morrison of Fieldon, Mrs. Lillian Daniels and Mrs. Roy C. Hicks of Jerseyville; 7 grandchildren; 7 g-grandchildren and 3 sisters, Mrs. Alice Bridges of Fieldon, Mrs. Lynda Bowers and Mrs. Hattie Schultz of Jerseyville.
(3) Barton S. Morrison and Eliza J. (Bethell) Morrison's son Thomas E. "Bert" Morrison was born in 1875 in Jersey Co., IL, and died in 1936 in Jersey Co., IL. He married Alice Powers born in 1876 and died in 1963. They are both buried in St. Francis Cemetery in Jersey Co., IL. Thomas E. "Bert" Morrison and Alice (Powers) Morrison's daughter Alberta Alice (Morrison) Hoeber's obituary - Alberta Alice Morrison Hoeber, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Plaza West Health Care Center in Sun City Center. She was born on Jan. 11, 1916, to Bert Morrison and Alice (Powers) Morrison in Fieldon, Ill. She was a graduate of Alton-Wood River Community High School in Illinois and Rubicam College in St. Louis. She married Lester Daniel Hoeber on Sept. 17, 1940, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton, In 1956, she and her husband and children moved to Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. She retired in 1977 from her position as secretary to the superintendent of Broward County Schools, Fort Lauderdale and moved to Sun City Center in 1978. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a resident of Freedom Plaza/Plaza West in Sun City Center.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lester D. Hoeber of Sun City Center; one bother and one sister-in-law, Robert (Cherry) Morrison and Dolores Morrison of Edwardsville; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Hoeber of Tampa, Fla. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alice Hoeber; and son, Dr. Daniel R. Hoeber; her sister, Grace Herisco, and brother-in-law, Jim Brantingham; her sister, Agnes C. Short, and brother-in-law, Forrest M. Short; her sister, Clara E. White, and brother-in-law, James D. White. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, at National Cremation & Burial Society, Ruskin, Fla. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Sun City Center,with Father Joel Kovanis as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Fla. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, 536 E. 3rd St. Alton, IL 62002-6301.

(2a) Thomas E. "Bert" Morrison and Alice (Powers) Morrison's daughter Clara E. (Morrison) White's obituary - Clara E. White, 88, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at her residence. Born Jan. 2, 1921, in Fieldon, she was the daughter of Thomas and Alice (Powers) Morrison. She married James Dennis "Whitey" White July 4, 1945, in Wood River. He died May 10, 1998. For more than 45 years she was a secretary for the Olin Corporation-Winchester Division.
Surviving are a brother and his wife, Robert "Cherry" and Dolores Morrison of Edwardsville; sister and her husband, Alberta and Lester Hoeber of Sun City, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Alice Cosco, Becky Claussen, Mary Kavanagh, Dan, Dave and Tim Morrison, Thomas and Kathy White, Trish Wilhelm and Janet Jones. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two sisters, Grace Herisco and Agnes Short and husband, Forrest; sister-in-law, Virginia White; niece and nephew, Dan and Mary Alice Hoeber. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School, St. Mary's Church, or Masses.
William Krueger
William Krueger, a wealthy farmer in this township, was born in Prussia on the 12th of June 1833. His parents were Charles and Mary (Owens) Krueger. His father died in Germany in 1845, at the age of about 51 years. His mother came to this country about four years after her son, William, came. She lived near Chicago about two years with her son Charles. He then moved to Minnesota, and she went with him, and resided there until her death in the spring of 1871, at age 80 years. In the year 1854, our subject took passage in a vessel bound for Canada, and after a voyage of four weeks, he landed at Quebec.
He remained there three days, then went to Montreal, where he worked on the canal for about a month, then went on to Chicago, where he went to work for the Illinois Central railroad company, about 15 miles from the city. He worked there seven weeks, and then went to making plank fence along the railroad near Kankakee, where he worked a couple of months. He then went to work on the canal again during the summer, about 22 miles from Chicago, and in the winter he chopped wood. He was thus employed for nearly four years, and then came down to Grafton, with a yoke of cattle, and commenced farming and hauling cord wood. He remained there over five years, and then came to Richwoods township, where he had bought land about a month before that. He located on 200 acres which he had bought on sections 14 and 15, his house being on section 14, and on this place he still lives. He has added to this until now he has a splendid farm of 770 acres. His time is devoted not only to the raising of grain, but also to stock-raising, in which he is very successful. He was married in Chicago, on the 20th of June 1857 to Dora Praell, a native of Mechlenburg, Germany.
Nine children were born to them, six of whom are now living: George; Charles, married to Lizzie Krouse, and living in Richwoods township; William, Henry, Louis and Matilda; Emma died at the age of one and a half years, the other two died in infancy. Mr. Kreuger and wife are both members of the Lutheran church at Fieldon. He has held the office of road commissioner three years, and that of school director several terms. Mr. Kreuger has been very successful since coming to this country, and by his industry has succeeded in placing his family in a most comfortable situation.

Mrs. Roach was a member of Steelman Camp, Royal Neighbors of America. The 51st wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Roach occurred January 16. Friends called at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services were held at 9:30 am Thursday at St. Francis Xavier church. Requiem mass was celebrated by Father Thomas Gorman and burial was in St. Francis cemetery.

Russell Francis Roach, 74, who owned and operated Roach Shoe Store here for many years, died Sunday, August 19, at his home in Downey, California. Born June 18, 1910, in Jerseyville, the son of William a & Ella (Kreuger) Roach, he married Mary J. McIntyre, February 26, 1938, in Jerseyville. He was employed for a period of time at the Wedge Bank in Alton, then returned to Jerseyville where he owned and operated Roach's Shoe Store.
He was active in Knights of Columbus, Elks and Moose. Roach served as Republican Chairman of Jersey County, Probation Officer of Jersey County, member of the Jersey Planning Commission, member of the Jerseyville Library Board of Directors, and President of the Jersey County Historical Society. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier church in Jerseyville. Surviving besides his wife are 3 sons, Dr. Terrence of Huntington Beach, California, Dr. Jerome of Downey, California, and Thomas of Indianapolis, Indiana; and 6 grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Downey, with burial in All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Long Beach, California. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Perpetual Help church.

Her husband Lawrence John "Chick" Erwin's obituary - Lawrence John "Chick" Erwin, 83, died at 5:07 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis County. Born Jan. 23, 1923, in English Township in Jersey County, he was the last surviving of 10 children of John L. and Mary A. (Borer) Erwin. He married the former Ruth V. Gerson on June 7, 1942, in Fieldon. She died Jan. 15, 2003. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and returned to Fieldon after his discharge. He began working as a union laborer and worked as a substitute mail carrier in Fieldon. He and his wife also owned and operated a grocery store in Fieldon for many years, selling the business in 1964, and farmed in the Fieldon area as well. He retired in 1989 from the state of Illinois, where he worked as a carpenter at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton with the Department of Conservation. He was a very active member of the community and was a devoted member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ, serving on numerous boards, the Moose Lodge in Jerseyville and the Fieldon Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lee "Dee Dee" and Robert Pearson of Franklin, Ill.; a son, Lawrence F. Erwin of Fairview Heights; a granddaughter and her husband, Amy Lee and Jay Huston of Jacksonville, Ill.; and two great-grandsons, Trevor and Cole Lawrence Huston. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyne Goshorn, Maurietta Devening and Arabelle Bunse; and six brothers, Clarence, Walter, Charles "Shine," Norman "Pete," James and Owen "Rich" Erwin. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, with the Rev. (1aa) Henry and Susan (Kitzmiller) Krueger's son Robert Laverne Krueger's wife Vincent Dean (Shackelford) Krueger's obituary - Vincent Dean Krueger, 93, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. She was born in White Hall on May 23, 1918, one of three children born to Ivan and Ruth (Staples) Shackelford. She graduated in 1936 from White Hall High School and first married Aubrey Mean on Sept. 27, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. They were only married a short time before he was killed in action in World War II. During the war she was employed Western Cartridge in East Alton and International Shoe Factory in Jerseyville. She married Robert Laverne Krueger on Aug. 18, 1947, at the Kane Baptist Church and they were engaged in farming for the majority of their nearly 50 year marriage, where they resided just west of Jerseyvile on Route 16 and Centennial Road. The two were just short of the golden anniversary before his death on Feb. 22, 1997. She was a longtime member of the Kane Baptist Church, past president of the Jerseyville American Legion Ladies Auxillary, and a former member of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Deborah & James Pegue of Grafton; a son & daughter in law, Robert & Glenda Krueger of Jerseyville; a son in law, and his wife, Bruce & Jacque Hansen of Jerseyville; six grandchildren & their spouses, Brian Pegue of Kankakee, Keith Pegue , Kari & Brian Schnelten all of Carrollton, Nathan & Marti Hansen of Jerseyville, Katie & Corey Clendenen and Julie Krueger all of Jerseyville; two step grandsons, Matthew Rothe and his wife, Belkas of Brooklyn, New York, and Mark Rothe of Columbus, Ohio; 11 Great Grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; oldest daughter, Carol Ann Hansen on Nov. 21, 1980; a granddaughter, Amanda Beth Hansen in 1978; a great-grandson, Nicholas Pegue; a sister, Martha Willis; and an infant brother, Gerald Shackelford. Democrat News, 17 August 1967: "Died in Car Wreckage": Edward Krueger, 64, of 103 North Liberty Street, Jerseyville, died in flames which engulfed his automobile after it crashed into a CIPS pole five miles west of Jerseyville on route 16 about seven-fifteen o'clock Tuesday evening. Trooper James Warford told a reporter for the Democrat News that while at the scene of another car fire in Delhi , he received a call to go five miles west of Jerseyville where a man was pinned in a car which was burning.
The investigating officer reports that he found that a 1961 Cadillac 4-door driven west by Krueger had run off the north side of the road, overturned, clipped off a CIPS pole, and caught fire. Trooper Warford said that due to the electricity those arriving on the scene were unable to get to Krueger. Unknown newspaper, 13 August 1959: Final rites for Louis John Krueger, well-known Fieldon resident and a former supervisor from Richwood township, were held Sunday afternoon, 9 August at two o'clock at Christ Evangelical and Reformed church in Fieldon, of which he was a member. Rev. Alton Loar, pastor of the church, officiated and burial was in the Fieldon cemetery. Friends called at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where on Saturday evening (picture of decedent appears here in obituary) at eight o'clock Masonic services were conducted by Fieldon Lodge No. 592.
The death of Mr. Krueger occurred Thursday evening, 6 August at 8:10 o'clock at his home in Fieldon where he had resided for more than thirty years. He had been in failing health for some time. The decedent was a son of the late William C. and Dorothea Prill Krueger and was born in Jersey County on 22 November 1873. His age at the time of death was eighty-five years, eight months and fourteen days. As a young man, Mr. Krueger engaged in farming. He was married on 30 April 1896 to Miss Emma Kessler and their sixty third wedding anniversary occurred this year.
Mr. Krueger was active in civic affairs and the Masonic Lodge of Fieldon. He had been a member of the Lodge for forty-seven years and served as its treasurer for twenty-nine years. He served as member of the Jersey County Board of Supervisors from 1924 to 1933, a position now held by his son, Supervisor Harold L. Krueger. The latter was elected to the post in 1945. The decedent also served as a school director for twenty years and was a member of the Directorate of Fieldon State Bank at the time it was purchased by the State Bank of Jerseyville several years ago. Surviving Mr. Krueger are his wife, Mrs. Emma Krueger, one daughter, Miss Hilda F. Krueger, and two sons, Supervisor Harold L. Krueger and Albert F. Krueger, all of Fieldon, one brother, Charles Krueger, 98 years old Jerseyville resident; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Walter and William Krueger.

Krueger, of Fieldon, Assistant Postmaster of the Fieldon post office, died at 5:35 a.m. on 6 February at Jersey Community Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 today (February 8) at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, Rev. Robert Broeder officiating, with burial in the Fieldon cemetery. Eastern Star services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where visitation was held that evening and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral time. The Fieldon United Church of Christ has been named as a memorial.

Krueger, 74, died at 4:42 a.m. today at St. Anthony's hospital. He was a farmer, born in Fieldon, son of the late Louis John and Emma (Kessler) Krueger. He was married to Freda Hamilton on 12 September 1936 and she died on 22 September 1962. He then married Fern Pauline Lyles Cummings on 30 April 1975 in Edwardsville. She survives in Fieldon.
Also surviving are a son, Donald L. of Waterloo; four Daughters, Marcella Marie McCallister of Pana, Phyllis Ann Long of East Alton, Karen Linn Krueger of Alton and Cristal Ourdehner of Matteson; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Harold of Fieldon. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Fieldon Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Jean Erb officiating. Burial will be in the Fieldon cemetery.
