Tucker born 1829 in Scioto Co, Ohio, and Elizabeth Humrickhouse, and the grandson of James Tucker who was born 1805 in Scioto Co, Ohio, and Louisa Vannort, the daughter of William Vannort and Betsy Maltimore. James Tucker and Louisa Vannort were married 11-13-1828 in Scioto Co, Ohio. All moved to Jersey Co, IL before 1840.

John Tucker was the son of Abraham Tucker (wife's name not known). John Tucker married Sarah Mitchell, daughter of David Mitchell and Sarah Reid. She was born Bet. 1771 - 1772 in Pennsylvania, and died Bet. December 27, 1851 - September 05, 1852 in Scioto Co., Ohio.

She died in 1969 in Jersey County, IL. Her burial was in Fieldon cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.

"Bud" Tucker and Winona (Wineland) Tucker's daughter Carmen Louise (Tucker) Woodring's obituary - Carmen Louise Woodring, 64, died at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Willow Rose Rehabilitation and Health Care in Jerseyville after a brief illness. She was born in Jerseyville Jan. 3, 1944, the daughter of Winona (Wineland) Tucker of Jerseyville and the late Arthur "Bud" Tucker. She married Marlin "Woody" Woodring on Feb. 25, 1984, at Fieldon Baptist Church. He survives. A lifelong Jersey County resident, she graduated in 1962 from Jersey Community High School. She worked at Temple Cleaners in Alton for 16 years and later was a presser at Piasa Cleaners in Alton when it initially opened. She worked there for six years before retiring in 2006. A devoted and loyal member of the Church of the Nazarene in Jerseyville, she had a passion for children and enjoyed her participation as a Sunday school teacher and with the "Caravan Kids."
In addition to her husband and mother, surviving are four children and their spouses, Robin and Morris Booth of Fidelity, Douglas and Leanne Burgess Sr. of Brighton, Michael Burgess and his companion, Patti Bella, and Darren Burgess, all of Fidelity; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five stepchildren and their spouses, Tim and Cindy Woodring of Alabama, Tom and Cory Woodring of Colorado Springs, Colo., Terry and Laura Woodring of Jerseyville, Tina Deremiah of Blue Springs, Mo., and Steven Woodring of Jerseyville; five stepgrandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beth and Bob Frye of Jerseyville and Kathy Plough of Godfrey. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Burgess, on April 22, 1976, an infant son and a brother who was killed in action in Vietnam, Arthur Tucker. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until services at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. Matthew Van Gilderr will officiate. Following the ceremony, family and friends are invited back to the Church of the Nazarene in Jerseyville for a dinner. Memorials may be made to the church.

Jerome E. Tucker's obituary - Jerome E. Tucker, 57, of Jerseyville, died November 15, 1985 in Normandy Osteopathic South hospital in St. Louis. He was born March 20, 1928, in Fieldon to the late James N. & Elizabeth (Kraushaar) Tucker. He was a truck driver for the Jersey County highway Department for 16 years. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean war. He married E. Lucille (Mortland) on October 15, 1947, in St. Charles, Missouri. He was a member of State St. Baptist church and Labor Local No. 646, master twice for the Hardin-Calhoun Masonic Lodge and honorary master of the Jerseyville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Jerseyville; 2 brothers, Arthur of Fidelity and Howard of Jerseyville; 1 Sister Eva Dunsing of Jerseyville; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Visitation was from 4-9 pm November 17 at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville with Masonic services at 7:30 pm. The funeral was November 18 at State St. Baptist church with Rev. Ron Woodrum officiating. Burial was in Fieldon cemetery.

Jerome Tucker's wife Ellen Lucille (Mortland) Tucker's obituary - Ellen Lucille Tucker, 75, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Greenwood Manor West Nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Batchtown to Walter and Beulah (Funk) Mortland. She was raised and attended schools in Calhoun County. When she was young, she moved to Jerseyville, where she began working at the International Shoe Factory. She soon married Jerome Tucker of Jerseyville, who later retired from the Jersey County Highway Department, on Oct. 15, 1947, in St. Charles, Mo. They had just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary before his death Nov. 15, 1985.
Survivors include a sister, Marguerite Peters of Hardin; two brothers, Clifford Mortland of Canton, Ill., and Kenneth Mortland of Hardin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Harvey Mortland. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home (Jacoby Chapel) in Jerseyville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Jerseyville, where she had been active in their senior citizen program. Their pastor, the Rev. Jon Lorch, will officiate. Burial will take place beside her husband in the Fieldon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First Southern Baptist Church in Jerseyville and St. Anthony's Hospice.

(4a) James and Elizabeth (Kraushaar) Tucker's son Howard Hubert Tucker's obituary - Howard Hubert Tucker, 79, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Greenwood Manor West Nursing Home in Jerseyville. The last surviving child of the late James and Elizabeth (Kraushaar) Tucker, he was born May 27, 1923, in Grafton. He loved being around his immediate family and was known by them as Uncle Howie. He was known to frequent the Stadium Theatre in Jerseyville, where he eventually was hired to assist with the daily routine.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Nellie and Judson Deverger of Fieldon, Sharon Hagedorn of Jerseyville, Danny Dunsing of Kane, Cynthia Martin and Michelle Breitweiser of Jerseyville and many other nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Tucker of Jerseyville and Lucille Tucker of Hardin; and his "special" family, Evie and the rest of the staff at Greenwood Manor West Nursing Home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jesse Cope and Eva Mae Dunsing, and three brothers, Alfred Tucker, Jerome Tucker and Arthur "Bud" Tucker. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home (the Jacoby Funeral Home Chapel) in Jerseyville, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. He was born April 5, 1932, in Jerseyville, the son of the late Paul and Velma (Tucker) Meyer. He married the former Violet June Weller on June 23, 1951, in Pocahontas, Ark., and together they shared 48 years together and had a family that consisted of four children and seven grandchildren. Her death occurred on June 24, 1999. He then married Hazel� (Green) Caldwell on Sept. 2, 2000, at the Kingdom Hall in Cottage Hills and she survives. Fred was employed at Olin Corp. in East Alton, retiring as a machine operator on Jan. 1, 1991, after 39 years of service. He was baptized into the Jehovah's Witness on May 26, 1984, and since then has been a devoted and loyal member of the Jerseyville congregation and most recently, Cottage Hills.

(2a) Charles and Emma (Williams) Tucker's daughter Aglenda (Tucker) Prough's husband Richard Lewis Prough's obituary - Richard Lewis Prough, 88, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Carlinville Area Hospital from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was born May 12, 1919, on the family homestead in Jersey County two and a half miles east of Kane, the last surviving of four children born to Lewis and Annie (Maloney) Prough. He married the former Aglenda Tucker on Oct. 29, 1938, in St. Charles, Mo. They shared 39 years together and were the parents of three children. She passed away on March 19, 1977. He then married Cheryll (Willaredt) Jones on Nov. 3, 1982, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Jerseyville. She survives. He grew up on the family farm, graduated in 1936 from the three-year Kane High School, and finished his senior year at Jersey Township High School, graduating with the class of 1937. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II with the 10th Armored Division, serving as a gunner in France, Germany and Czechoslovakia. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working at Shell Oil Refinery in Wood River, where he retired as a lab technician in 1977 after 35 years of service. He loved to travel the country and was a lifelong member of the Kane Baptist Church. At the age of 10, he pursued a lifelong hobby of fur trapping in Jersey, Greene, and surrounding counties. In 1959, he and another trapper decided that there should be an organization for all trappers to be able to get together for fellowship. They then founded the National Trappers Association and the first two national conventions were held at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton. He also founded the Illinois State Trappers Association and served on the board of directors until 2004. He was a lobbyist in the state capitol for trappers' and hunters' rights. In 1975, he began buying furs from area trappers and hunters from all around the United States and bought and sold furs internationally until his declining health forced him to retire.

Mr. Perdun resided west of Jerseyville in English township. Final rites were conducted at the United Methodist church in Jerseyville Tuesday afternoon, 25 November at two o'clock by the pastor, Rev. W. Louis Purcell. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. Visitation hours were held at the Gubser Funeral Home and Masonic services were conducted at the funeral home Monday evening at eight o'clock. Mr. Perdun was a son of the Late Clarence and Emma Boomer Perdun and was born in Jersey County 8 October 1885.

He was Jersey County Sheriff from 1959-62; Jersey County Treasurer from 1962-64; Jerseyville Acting Postmaster from 1964-67; currently on the Jersey County Board; and a Democratic Precinct Committeeman. He was a member of many area organizations including the Illinois Sheriffs' Association; Jersey County Farm Bureau; Jerseyvillemasonic Lodge; Ainad Temple of the Shrine; Jerseyville Elks Lodge; and the Rotary Club. He was born in Jersey County, son of the Late Lloyd and Rosa (Tucker) Perdun. The World War II veteran married the former Jo Ann Sunderland on 2 January 1950 and she survives.

(2a) Lloyd and Rosa (Tucker) Perdun's son - Clarence Joseph "Joe" Perdun, 78, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident for the past year. He was born March 1, 1928, on the homeplace in Jersey County, the youngest of nine children of to Lloyd and Rosa (Tucker) Perdun.
He grew up as a young boy on the family farm west of Jerseyville that, at the time, was commonly referred to as "Perdunville." At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Army and entered World War II as it was ending, serving in the Philippines and Okinawa, Japan. He returned to Jersey County, and the next day, he met Marjorie Winters. The two dated for six months before they married on March 27, 1948, at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville. The two remained on the family farm for most of their married life, and he retired in 1991 from Owens-Illinois machine shop, after dedicating 38 years to them. He was a member of the Masons and Eastern Star and recently received his 50-year pin from the Jerseyville American Legion. He thoroughly enjoyed camping trips with his family, with Mount Pleasant, Iowa, being his favorite spot.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Rhonda Perdun of Jerseyville and Larry and Pam Perdun of Chesterfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and John Pfeifer of Jerseyville; three grandchildren, Rebecca Randolph and her husband, Josh, of Dow, Jennifer Perdun of St. Charles, Mo., and Jason Perdun of Chesterfield; a sister, Josephine "Dode" Crabtree of White Hall; and a brother-in-law, John Winters of Sierra Vista, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Ginger Leigh Perdun, on Oct. 4, 1995; three brothers, Arthur "Jube," William and Howard "Dick" Perdun; and four sisters, Letha "Tiny" Ogden, Irene Warford, Marilla "Tootie" Whittleman and Helen Arnold. (1aa) William "Bill" and Letha "Tiny" (Perdun) Ogden's son Rupert Laverne Ogden's obituary - Rupert Laverne Ogden, 77, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County. He was born in Jersey County on Oct. 20, 1933, one of two sons born to the late William "Bill" and Letha "Tiny" (Perdun) Ogden. Rupe, as he was commonly known, enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and was an outstanding basketball player during his middle school years. He was proud to serve his country, and entered at the age of 19, the United States Marine Corp, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in July of 1956. He retired in 1992 from Owens-Illinois Machine Shop and few people could have had the enjoyment that retirement brought to him. He often said that he didn't know how he had the time to work before retirement. His greatest pleasure was being home and spending time with his family. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's events and seldom missed a game or a program. He loved to hunt, fish, travel, bowl, woodwork, dominoes, playing cards with his friends and family, the history channel, but most of all he enjoyed golf, a sport he took up after retirement.
Surviving are his wife, the former Phyllis Cochran, who he married on Aug. 20, 1977 at the Fieldon Baptist Church; along with a son and daughter in law, Jeff and Linda Ogden of Bethalto; a daughter and son in law, Sheri and John Heitzig of Jerseyville; a step daughter and her husband, Sandy and James Powers of Brighton; and a step son, David Dooley of O'Fallon. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jerrod Ogden of Jerseyville, Jake Ogden of Jacksonville, Megan, and her husband, Roy Flowers of Grafton, Hannah Heitzig and Justin Heitzig both of Jerseyville; Six stepgrandchildren, Adam, and his wife Rachel Taylor, Brett, and his wife, Miranda Taylor and Lindsey Taylor all of Brighton, Kerry Dooley and Jamie Dooley both of Jerseyville, and Jessie Dooley of Wood River; a great-granddaughter, Gracie Jo Flowers; and six stepgreat-grandchildren, Blakley, Eliza, Ava, Kelly, Kayne, and Gavin; along with a brother and sister-in-law, William and Billie Ogden of Moore Haven, Fla.; as well as numerous aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews. Annetta Evelyn (Cummings) Maltimore, age 81, died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at her home. Her burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jo-Ann Maltimore, and a son-in-law, Buddy Wayne Stephens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jacoby Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Larry Collard of Pittsfield, Ill.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Debbie Maltimore and Mike and Patricia Maltimore, all of Jerseyville; six grandchildren, Sara, Rochelle, Raeann Maltimore, Kirk and Kayla Short and Ashlie Stamper; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Carrie Stephens of Jerseyville, Mary Lou and John Baker and Linda Maltimore, all of Otterville; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry Maltimore of East Alton and Gilbert and Barb Maltimore of Hillview, Ill. His parents and one sister, Joann Maltimore, preceded him in death. Per his request, he was cremated. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. Robert McAdams will officiate. Edward and Josephine (Kraushaar) Maltimore's son Perry Maltimore's obituary - Perry Maltimore, 85, died at 3:10 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the home of his son & daughter in law in rural Kane after a prolonged illness. He was born in Hardin on May 5, 1923, the son of the late Edward & Josephine (Kraushaar) Maltimore. He married the former Loretta Stevens on Nov. 1, 1955 in Kane, and she died on Feb. 4, 1988. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, receiving the Purple Heart while he was on tour in Europe. After his discharge, he returned to the area, where he was employed at Jersey County Construction for nearly 32 years. He was a member of Labor Local 646 for over 50 years.
Surviving are a son & daughter in law, James Perry "Perky" and Kay Maltimore of Kane; a granddaughter, Amanda Maltimore; a great grandchild due in June; a sister, Bonita Sherman Goodrich of Jerseyville. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Henry Lee Maltimore, and two sisters, Mary Foster and Opel Kruckeberg. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Kane Baptist Church.

Born in Jersey County, she was the daughter of the Late Henry and Myrtle (Guess) Stevens. On November 1, 1955 she married Perry Maltimore in Kane, and he survives. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two half-brothers. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral home in Jerseyville from noon until time of services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, visitation will continue at the First Southern Baptist church in Jerseyville. The Rev. Ron Woodrm will officiate. Burial will be in Kane cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church, where Mrs. Maltimore had been a member.
(4) Edward and Josephine (Kraushaar) Maltimore's daughter Bonita Maltimore married Wendell Sherman of Jerseyville, IL. He died 5-15-1991. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. Bonita later married a man who's last name is Goodrich and lives in Jerseyville, IL.

Reynolds whom she married 5-1-1946. Her husband Leo Kruckeberg, 72, of Godfrey, died Mar. 30, 1998, in Alton Memorial Hospital. His wife Opal Maltimore, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Maltimore Pressley; two sons, Roy of Alexis and Gary, who is serving in the Navy at Kingsville, Tex., two daughters, Josephine and Marilyn Pressley of Jerseyville; one grandchild; stepsons, Earl Maltimore of Alton, Jim Snider and Kenneth Snider of Jerseyville, and a brother, George, of Jerseyville. Final services were conducted Saturday, 18 May from Jacoby Funeral Home with the Rev. Vale Walkington officiating. Interment was in the Fieldon cemetery.

(1a) Mary Maltimore's son Earl E. Maltimore's obituary - Earl E. Maltimore, 62, died at 8:05 p.m. and left his earthly life Thursday, March 22, 2007, with family and friends by his side. His heavenly father, many loved ones and friends were waiting to welcome him to his heavenly home. Born March 7, 1945, in Jerseyville to Mary Maltimore, he was raised by his grandparents, Edward and Josephine Maltimore. Upon leaving school, he worked various jobs, including construction and grounds maintenance at Principia College in Elsah. In 2004, he was seriously injured and permanently disabled after being hit head-on by a drunken driver, forcing him to retire from Kickham Boiler and Engineering in St. Louis after nearly 39 years of dedicated service. He had been shop superintendent for the last several years.
He is survived by his fiancee and soul mate, Mellinda Black Snider. They enjoyed five wonderful years together, before he was called to heaven. He is also survived by a son, Jason Maltimore of Eustis, Fla.; a granddaughter, Josie Lewis, who was a great joy in his life; a very special cousin, Robert Reynolds of Delhi; two half brothers, James and Kenny of Jerseyville; and two half sisters, Josephine and Marilyn. Many special friends and loved ones are also left behind to mourn his death and celebrate his life.
In the last weeks of his illness, he touched many lives with his strength, courage and kindness. His dog, Buckethead, "the best dog in the world," and his cat, Sissy "Sue-Sue," will also miss him. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents; a special cousin, Judith Reynolds Bell; and a special friend, David Kickham. Per his wish, his remains were cremated. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. A celebration dinner in honor of his life will be held at Pete's Banquet Hall in Alton immediately after the service. Berdan Baptist Church in Berdan, Ill., has been named as a memorial.
