She married Jasper Westfall, the son of Jasper and Frances (McCaulley) Westfall. He was born in April 1907 in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL, and died 10-19-1997 In Alton, Madison County, IL. His interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. Jasper Westfall farmed in the Fieldon, IL area.
(Note: Ruth Josephine (McNish) Westfall was my aunt. Her husband Jasper Westfall was my father Walter Edward "Ed" Westfall's brother and my uncle).
Before her marriage to Uncle Jasper, Ruth McNish had a daughter Marie born 12-21-1927. Marie married James Webb, and they had a son James Webb. Marie died 10-14-1946 at age 18 in childbirth. She is buried at Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL.

McCormick, 92, died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at her home in Alton. She was born May 1, 1916, in New Jersey, the daughter of Robert and Mary Ann (Fyfe) Clayton. She married Carl A. McCormick Aug. 27, 1945, in Little Rock, Ark., and he preceded her in death in March 1997. She served in the United States Army WACS as an officer from September 1943 to September 1945. She had a master's degree in teaching and taught for the New Jersey public schools, teaching home economics.
She is survived by two sons, James and his wife, Joyce, McCormick and Charles (Butch) and his wife, Penny, McCormick, both of Alton; two daughters, Margaret Ann Meletti of Las Vegas and Jean M. Sisk of Alton; 11 grandchildren, Robert Meletti, Paul Meletti, Kim Westfall, Brian Sisk, Craig Sisk, Anissa Wooten, Kevin McCormick, Daniel McCormick, Tim Outhouse, Jeremy Outhouse and Amanda Outhouse; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Robert Meletti and Leighton Sisk. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Upper Alton Cemetery with full military rites by the Alton V.F.W Post 1308. Frances (Talley) Westfall Crumley's 2nd husband Bobby Lee Crumley's obituary - Bobby Lee Crumley, 71, died at 8:22 p.m. on Wednesday July 23, 2008, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born July 14, 1937, in Elco, Ill., the son of Archie and Hester Meisenhimer Crumley. He married Frances Talley Westfall January 5, 1974, and she survives. He retired in July 1999 after 40 years at Olin Corporation in the storeroom Department T-400. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Jerseyville Moose. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.
He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Davis and her sons Ryan and Zach Davis of Wood River, and Linda Brickhouse and her son Alex of East Alton; two step-sons, Allen Westfall and his wife Beth of Alton and their children Lance Westfall and Allen Jr. and his wife, Kim of Alton, and their children Jeremy Meletti and Ryan Rauscher and daughter Bethany Westfall, George "Terry" Westfall and his wife Julie of Godfrey and their daughter Jennifer Haselhorst and her husband Joe; three stepdaughters, Jeanne Lacy and her husband Dennis of Jerseyville, and their children Missy and her husband Scott Schonasky and their son Josh, Jason Merideth and his daughter Selena, Peggy Rittenhouse, and Sandy Maragha and her husband Ahmed of Plainfield, and their children, Nadia, Rhonda, Sarah, Farrah and Moudy; a brother Don Crumley and his son Donny and his wife Olivia.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his stepfather Arlan Miller, a brother Jim Crumley, a step-son Harry Westfall and two sons-in-law, Joe Rittenhouse and Bill Merideth. July 23, 2008 - 11:02 AM By SARAH GRONECK For The Telegraph ALTON - A Godfrey man was unloading a four-wheeler from the back of his pickup truck Wednesday morning when it struck his 72-year-old stepfather, critically injuring him. The victim was identified as Bobby L. Crumley. The incident occurred at Crumley's home in the 200 block of Mounier Street in Alton. Authorities said Crumley's stepson, George "Terry" Westfall of the 7700 block of Walsh Road in Godfrey, was unloading his 2002 Yamaha Bear Track 250 four-wheeler from his pickup truck onto a portable ramp. As Westfall was bringing the four-wheeler down the ramp, it hit Crumley, causing him to fall backward, Alton Fire Chief Greg Bock said. Crumley's head struck the road pavement, and he was knocked unconscious. Seeing that Crumley was unresponsive, Westfall called 911, notifying the Alton Fire Department and Alton Police Department to dispatch emergency responders and officers to the scene.
Tim Quigley, acting assistant chief of the Alton Fire Department, spoke with Westfall after the accident. "(Westfall) was holding (Crumley's) head up when I arrived," Quigley said. "He told me that the stepfather wasn't breathing at one point." Crumley was rushed by LifeStar Ambulance to Saint Anthony's Hospital in Alton, where an ARCH Air Medical Services Inc. helicopter airlifted him at 11:10 a.m. to Saint Louis University Hospital. He was said to be in critical condition at that time. "His (head) injuries were very serious in nature," Alton Police Chief Chris Sullivan said. Crumley's wife, Frances, who arrived at the house after authorities had responded, rode with Crumley in the ambulance. She and Westfall then were given directions to Saint Louis University Hospital and traveled there by vehicle. Bock said he is a friend of the Crumley family. July 24, 2008 - 10:27 PM By SARAH GRONECK For the Telegraph ALTON - A man who died in a tragic ATV mishap is being remembered as his stepson's best friend and constant companion. George "Terry" Westfall and his stepfather Bobby L. Crumley were always together, said a member of the Crumley family. "Terry was the son that (his stepfather) always wanted," she said. "Going fishing, going hunting - they would do everything together." Westfall, along with the rest of Bobby Crumley's family, were with Crumley on Wednesday evening when he died at 8:22 p.m. at Saint Louis University Hospital. On Wednesday morning, Crumley, 72, was helping Westfall back his 2002 Yamaha Bear Track four-wheeler down a pair of portable ramps when the vehicle accidentally hit Crumley's leg, causing him to fall and hit his head. Crumley was immediately rushed to Saint Anthony's Hospital and then airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital. He died later that night. "Family came down from as far as Chicago to be with him when he passed," said the family member, who asked not to be named. Everyone was taking the news hard, she said.
Family and friends remember Crumley as being a caring and considerate person. "He loved us, and he would do anything for anybody," she said. He worked hard for the Olin Corp., having spent 40 years in the storeroom Department T-400 before retiring in July of 1999. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Jerseyville Moose. Crumley was a dedicated family man. He loved spending time with his wife, two daughters, two stepsons, three stepdaughters, and their families. "If you needed him, he would be there," she said. He and his wife Frances had been married 34 years. "He and Frances were the love of each other's lives," said the family member. A visitation for Crumley will take place at Gent Funeral Home on State Street in Alton on Friday, July 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Wilbur Cain officiating.

She was married before to Charles H. Pilger. He died in 1969. She had a son Jack Bailey of Meadowbrook, IL.

He was a self employed mechanic, born in Atlas, Ark., son of the late Albert F. and Nora (Wyres) Pace. His burial was in the Noble cemetery Otterville, Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL. He married the former Mary Lucille Ridenour in Alton on 7 October 1933. Mary Lucille (Ridenour) Pace, 78, died at 9:49 pm Thursday 10 November 1994 at her home. Born July 18 1916, in Otter Creek township, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Neva Jewel (Bethel) Ridenour. Her burial was in the Noble cemetery Otterville, Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL.
Her mother Neva J. Ridenour died 03-19-1981. Neva J. Ridenour, 83, of Otterville died at 1 pm March 19, 1981 at Jersey Community hospital. Services were conducted Saturday pm at Otterville Baptist church by Rev. Joy Settles, with burial in Rosedale cemetery, Rosedale Township, Jersey County, IL. She was the daughter of Rollin Henry & Elizabeth (White) Bethel, she was born in Chesterfield, IL June 14, 1897. Her husband, Elmer Ridenour, died March 1, 1971.

Pace's wife Mary Lucille (Ridenour) Pace's sister Lois Irma (Ridenour) McCoy's obituary - Lois Irma McCoy, 97, died at 5:57 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2011, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, Illinois, Feb. 8, 1914, and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Neva (Bethal) Ridenour. A resident of Grafton for many years, she relocated after the Flood of 1993. She was a homemaker, and married Hallie Leroy McCoy on Nov. 10, 1932, in Carrollton, and they shared 48 years together before his death in December 1980.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Roland "Boots" and Martha McCoy of Dow; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Pete Ridenour of Godfrey; and a sister, Madge Reynolds Murrell of Otterville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Dollie, a daughter, Donna Dabbs, a son and daughter-in-law, Leroy and Glenna Belle McCoy; a son, Dale McCoy; two granddaughters, Debra McCoy and Lori (McCoy) Crowe; two sisters, Lucille Pace and Joyce Moran; and a brother, Wayne Ridenour. He was born in Otterville on April 21, 1932, the son of Halley Leroy and Lois Irma (Ridenour) McCoy. He married the former Glenna Belle DeSherlia on Aug. 21, 1949, in Jerseyville. She died unexpectedly July 5, 1996. As a young man, he worked at Coca Cola Bottling Company in Alton and retired in 1987 as a route salesman after 37 years of service. During his spare time, he enjoyed working around his farm in Rosedale Township, where he and his wife raised a small crop and cared for various farm animals.
He is survived by his mother of Jerseyville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary McCoy of Jerseyville, Donnie McCoy and his fiancee, Connie McEvers, and Tony and Carmen McCoy, all of Grafton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melody Rowling of Jerseyville, Tammy and Alan Simpson of Dow and Tina and Matt Heitzman of Jerseyville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roland "Boots" McCoy of Dow. He retired in 1994 from Laclede Steel, where he had been employed as a wire drawer for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with his buddies in Jerseyville and Roodhouse. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Red Frazier of Jerseyville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Catherine Devening of Jerseyville, Scott Devening of Fredericksburg, Va., and Brad Devening of Herrin; six grandchildren, James and Brian Devening, Tiffany and Krystal Devening, Brittany Holmes and Korey Devening; a sister, Deloris Dahn of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born March 7, 1918, in Fieldon, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 until 1946. He was a self-employed truck driver for 61 years, served as a school trustee since 1964 and served on the Jerseyville Mutual Insurance board for 21 years. He was a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ since 1926 and Fieldon Masonic Lodge 592. He married Ruby I. Lyles on July 26, 1941, in Elsberry, Mo. She died in August 1994. He and Katherine Bruns-Booth were married on Jan. 24, 1997, in Roxana. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Maurice B. "MB" and Karen Williams of Carrollton, Merle L. Powers of Jerseyville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville, Ill., and Rebecca and Clyde Anderson of Richmond, Ill.; six grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Angie, Benjamin and his wife, Sarah, Steven Morrison and Kristen, Erika and Stanley Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Emily and Owen Morrison; and one brother, Charles Powers of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pauline Martin; three brothers, James Lewis Powers, Andrew "Jack" Powers and John Powers; and a son-in-law, George Morrison.
Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home (Jacoby Chapel) in Jerseyville. Kenneth L. Powers's wife Willrene B. "Billie" (Moore) Powers"s obituary - Willrene B. "Billie" Powers, 81, died unexpectedly at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville after suffering an apparent brain aneurysm. She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of Charles R. and Marguerite (Soder) Moore. She grew up in Jacksonville, Fla., and it was there that she met her future husband, Kenneth L. Powers, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They married on March 22, 1945, and he soon brought the city girl to Fieldon, where they established a home in the Fieldon bottoms where they farmed and raised their family of three children. They spent many happy years on the farm until moving to Jerseyville in 1992. They enjoyed 10 years in town together before he died Oct. 30, 2003. She was a loyal and active member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ for 63 years, as well as a 51-year member of the Jersey County Home Extension, where she served as secretary. In her younger years, she served as a 4-H leader for her children's groups and enjoyed utilizing her creative side, whether it was painting, flower arranging or gardening. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband and friends and was a consistent St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Surviving are a son, Lewis Powers of Jerseyville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville and Rebecca and Clyde Anderson of Richmond; six grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Angie Morrison, Benjamin and Sarah Morrison and Steven and Mindy Morrison, all of Taylorville, Kristen Anderson of Carol Stream, Erika Anderson, a student at the University of Illinois at Champaign, and Stan Anderson, a student at Illinois State University at Normal; five great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kendall and Gladys Moore of Virginia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Holloway and Carolyn Coristin; and a son-in-law, George Morrison. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, and will continue from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Fieldon United Church of Christ. After retirement, he continued to "hobby" farm south of Carrollton. He graduated from Jersey Township High School and was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Eldred American Legion and Jerseyville Elks Lodge 954. He enjoyed the many trips he took with his best friend, Bill Kadell, "touring" the tri-county area.
He is survived by his fiancee, Virginia "Pinky" Wagner of Carrollton; his children and their spouses, Connie and Roger Adcock of Kampsville and Marsha and Rick Zipprich, Sandy and Tom Sawyer and Mark and Cindy Wagner, all of Fieldon; 14 grandchildren, Charlie, Amy, Josh, Mary Beth, Mitchell, Amanda, Amy, Edwards, Erinn, Matt, Justin, Marissa, Luke and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was born in Hardin on April 27, 1934, one of three children born to the late Ernest and Rose M. (Schleeper) Thompson. As a young girl, she attended grade school in Hardin and graduated from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville. A resident of Hardin for many years, she retired from Calhoun County Ford and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, both in Hardin. She was a very active and social person and she always enjoyed being on the go. She loved spending time with family and friends and, in her quiet times, enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting.
She was formerly married to Charles Powers and surviving are their three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Rick Adcock of Kampsville and Marsha and Rick Zippich and Sandy and Tom Sawyer, all of Fieldon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Kay Thompson of Jerseyville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Barry Ritter of Jerseyville. He had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for 4Quarters Excavation in Cheyenne. Also surviving are six children; six brothers and sisters, including Bev (Mike) Fessler of Dow and Tracie Cummings of Jerseyville; 14 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. For 44 years, Hazel was employed as the hotel manager at the Old Colonial Inn in Jerseyville, retiring in 1989 at the age of 76. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville.
She is survived by her only daughter, Doris McDanel of Jerseyville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Marcia and Bob McAninch of Godfrey and Greg and Pattie McDanel of Jerseyville; three great-grandchildren, Joshua McDanel, Brady and Mack McAninch, and some very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Mark McDanel, on March 23, 2001; and a sister, Enid Crotchett. Upon the selling of both businesses, Mark purchased the Wood River Dairy Queen, which he operated for 17 years, making significant improvements during that time.
He married the former Doris Devening on March 10, 1956 in Alton, and she survives. Mark is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Pattie McDanel of Jerseyville; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Bob McAninch of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Joshua McDanel, Brady and Mack McAninch; his mother-in-law, Hazel Devening of Jerseyville; and a sister-in-law and her family, Betty McDanel of Florissant, Mo. His only brother, William R. McDanel Jr., and his father-in-law, Percy Devening, have preceded him in death. Her husband, William Fredrick Devening, and 1 daughter, Ida Ann Devening preceded her in death.
