He is buried at Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. Wesley Charles Griffin married first to Caroline (Kanallakan) Pegue 11-24-1898 in Jersey County, IL. They had no children together. She was born 5-19-1857 in Greene County, IL, the daughter of John Kanallakan. She died 3-28-1922 near Otterville, Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL. She is buried at St Mary's Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. She had been married previously to James C. Pegue. They married 11-21-1878 in Jersey County, IL. He was born 06-03-1859 and died 06-12-1893 in Jersey County, IL. He was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Jersey County, IL. Wesley Charles Griffin married 2nd my father's sister Anna Westfall, the daughter of Jasper and Frances (McCaulley) Westfall. She was born May 19, 1904 in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL, and died 10-15-1992 in Jerseyville, Jersey County, IL. She is buried at Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. Wesley and Anna (Westfall) Griffin lived on a farm near Otterville, IL when they were first married and later lived in Fieldon, IL. After her husband Wesley Charles Griffin's death Anna (Westfall) Griffin lived on a farm near Fieldon, and later moved to Jerseyville, IL where she lived on Sherman Street until her death in 1992.

She is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. She married Alfred Godar 4-28-1942, the son of Paul and Theresa (Becker) Godar. Alfred Godar was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Hardin, Calhoun County, IL. He died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County after a brief illness. His burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon, English Township, Jersey County, IL. He was in the Military Service in the U. S. Air Force and was a World War II Veteran.

Wesley Charles Griffin and Anna (Westfall) Griffin's daughter Viola Frances (Griffin) Godar's obituary - Mrs. Viola F. Godar, 59, died at 2:05 a.m. Monday Nov. 11, 1985 at Greenwood Manor nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was born in Jersey County, a daughter of Anna (Coleman) Griffin of Jerseyville and the late Wesley Griffin. On April 28, 1942, she married Alfred Godar, who survives.

In addition to her mother and husband, surviving are one son, Dwain of Fieldon; three daughters, Wanda Groppel, Theresa Killion and Sylvia Chandler, all of Jerseyville; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Griffin of Washington and Virgil Griffin of Jerseyville; and two sisters. Eunice Kessler of Oregon and Jeneva McClintock of Arizona.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fieldon at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. William Hembrow as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the church where she was a member.

Viola Frances (Griffin) Godar's husband Alfred Godar's obituary - Alfred Godar, 84, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Hardin, son of Paul Frederick and Theresa Agnes (Becker) Godar. He was raised in Hardin and married the former Viola Frances Griffin on April 28, 1942, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton. Shortly after their marriage, he entered World War II, serving with an elite bomb squad in Europe with the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working at the Western in East Alton for a short time before he and his wife purchased a farm near Fieldon. He remained active in farming for many years and retired shortly after the death of his wife on Nov. 11, 1985. During the same time period, he also served as road commissioner for English Township for 20 years.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dwain and Roberta Godar of Eldred; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ted Groppel, Theresa and Richard Killion, and Sylvia "Sug" and David Chandler, all of Jerseyville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Geraldine Krause of Kane, Elaine Turner of Alton, Donna Droege of St. Charles, Mo., and Melba Tepen of Hardin; as well as his former wife, Dorothy, and her daughter, Juanita. In addition to his wife, Viola, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Manuel, Cecil, Romeo and Patrick Godar; and two sisters, Rosalee Beiermann and Alice Baalman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow as celebrant. He will be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon with military graveside rites conducted by Jerseyville American Legion Post 492. Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools of Jerseyville or to Masses.

(2) Wesley Charles Griffin and Anna (Westfall) Griffin's son Melvin Wesley Griffin was born 11-03-1934 in Jersey County, IL, and died 11-16-1978 in Alton, Madison County, IL. He died of a Massive Coronary - caused by a heart defect that was undetected all of his life. He was married to Frances Elizabeth (Wilson) Griffin (everyone calls her Betty). They eloped in Arkansas when they were 16 years old. She was from Uptonville, Tennessee - she lived there until she was 12 years old. Her Mom married a man who worked at Owens Illinois and they moved to Alton, IL. Melvin rented an apartment in the house they lived in, and that's how they met. They were still married when Melvin died. She still survives. Melvin worked at Owens Glass Company in Alton, IL for 27 years. He had also been in the National Guard in 1949 and 1950 - before going to work at the glass works. Melvin and Frances Elizabeth "Betty" (Wilson) Griffin had 4 children-James Wesley Griffin, William Michael Griffin, Susan Kay (Griffin) Brooks, and Cindy Ann Griffin.

(3) Wesley Charles Griffin and Anna (Westfall) Griffin's son Virgil Harold Griffin was born Nov. 5, 1943 in Jersey County, IL, and died 1-30-1993 in Jersey County, IL of lung cancer. He is buried at Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. Virgil married Norma Herman and they had 3 children-Anna Griffin, Dawn Griffin, and Christopher Griffin.

They reside in Plainfield, IL, which is about 30 miles from Chicago.

Christopher Griffin's wife Christine (Decker) Griffin's father Lee Alvin Decker Jr.'s obituary - Lee Alvin Decker Jr., 65, formerly of Branson, Mo., died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Dow, the son of Lee A. Sr. and Sylvia M. (Williams) Decker, now deceased. He married the former Sylvia A. Breden of Jerseyville. He later married the former Sondra Duggan Jan. 3, 1989, in Tennessee, and she survives. He retired from Laclede Steel Company in Alton. He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville.

In addition to his wife, Sondra Decker of Branson, surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Amanda Decker of Roxana; three daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Christopher Griffin, and Michelle and Steve Hallstead of Jerseyville, and Cindy and Mark Wagner of Fieldon; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Sally Stahlschmidt of Alton; and a brother, Sam Decker of Galesburg, Ill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Decker, and a brother, Wayne "Gene" Decker. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with prayer service at 3:45 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with Fr. Lewis and Eunice (Griffin) Kessler's daughter Carol J. (Kessler) Essen's obituary - Mrs. Carol J. Essen, 53, died at 11:01 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at her home. Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of Eunice Marie (Griffin) Kessler of Portland, Ore., and the late Lewis George Kessler. She married Roland "Ed" Essen March 13, 1970, in St. Charles, Mo. He survives. In addition to her husband and mother, surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette Essen of Portland and Cindy K. and Ken Tripp of Portland; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amanda Essen of Carrollton; and five grandsons, Nick, Mark, Josh, Joe and Jacob.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Tri-County Vietnam Veterans Association. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where the Rev. Delbert Essen will officiate at services at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the Grimes-Neely Cemetery, west of Jerseyville. She died Nov. 8, 2006, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was buried at Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. She was married to Lloyd McClintock. He was born 11-8-1930, and died 7-17-1995 in Jersey Co. IL. His burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. Lloyd and Geneva (Griffin) McClintock had a son, John McClintock Sr. of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, John McClintock Jr. of Moline, Ill., and Erikia McClintock, Lance McClintock and Alex McClintock, all of Jerseyville and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Riley McClintock and Chloe McClintock. Lloyd McClintock later married Ruth Ann Kappler, daughter of Rev. Louis Edward Kappler and Mary Elizabeth (Robbins) Kappler, and Lloyd and Ruth Ann (Kappler) McClintock had a daughter Lori McClintock who married Paul Wojtysiak.

Born March 23, 1937, in Fieldon, she was the daughter of Wesley Charles Griffin and Anna (Westfall) Griffin Coleman. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Church in Jerseyville.

Survivors include one son, John McClintock Sr. of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, John McClintock Jr. of Moline, Ill., and Erikia, Lance and Alex McClintock, all of Jerseyville; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Riley and Chloe McClintock; and one sister, Eunice Fugett of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Jean Griffin and Viola Godar; and three brothers, Virgil, Melvin and Harold Griffin. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. William Hembrow will officiate. 'C.L' Snyder, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at Passavant Hospital. By his side was his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Dixie Snyder. Dad married mom, the former Dixie L. Brown of Hillview, on April 9, 1954 in Carrollton, Illinois. From that joyful union, eight children were born in the following order; Ricky L Snyder (wife Linda) of Hillview, Randy L. Snyder (wife Mary) of White Hall, Debbie Buchanan (husband Marty) of Hillview, Cathy Hurt (husband Jerry) and Diana Monroe (husband Roy) of White Hall, Sandy Hicks (husband David) of Patterson, Rodney Snyder of Hillview, and Susie McClintock (husband John) of Fieldon. Dad was the proud grandfather of Joe Snyder, Misty Snyder Bellet, Luck Snyder, Billy Miller, Katie Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan, T.J. Hurt, Charlie Hurt, Will Monroe, Mindy Monroe, Becky Monroe, David Lee Hicks, Cassandra Hicks McAdams, Courtney Gansz, Aaron Gansz, Erika McClintock, Lance McClintock, Alex McClintock, and John McClintock, Jr. He was the loving and proud great grandfather of 22 great grandchildren. Following his marriage to mom, dad worked more than 40 years at Orton's Rock Quarry in Hillview, while doing carpentry work on the side in an effort to feed his hungry brood free of any government handouts, for which he was very proud! He sang in several country bands during the 80's, making many cherished friends along the way.

Dad was born on May 12, 1938 to Claude and Beatrice Bushnell Snyder, in Farber, MO. He had two sisters and nine brothers. His parents and the following siblings preceded him in death; Opal Rinker of Mexico, MO., Lois Gullion of Hermann, MO., (twin brothers,) Melvin and Marvin Snyder, and Tommy Snyder of Laddonia, MO., and Kenny Snyder of Rush Hill, MO. Surviving brothers are David Snyder (wife Brenda) and Johnnie Snyder (wife Debbie) of Laddonia, MO., Jack Snyder (wife Debbie), and Curtis Snyder (wife Cheryl) all of Martinsburg, MO., and Gary Snyder (companion Ina) of Rush Hill, MO. Dad had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, and a part-time care giver he was very fond of as well, John Bull, Jr. Dad was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church, Hillview American Legion, and White Hall V.F.W. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he was wounded in the service of his country. Dad has been an inspiration to all of us who love him so very much, and for the rest of our days, we will miss the sight of his warm smile when he sees one of his many babies. We will always cherish the wonderful memories of our beloved dad. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Hillview Baptist Church with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery at Patterson. He was in the Military Service in the U. S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He married Wilma Irene Talley 7-21-1949 in Jersey County, IL. She was the daughter of George and Gertrude (Parker) Talley. Wilma was born July 31, 1930 (died 3-4-91 age 60 of breast cancer), and they had 4 children-Ronald Harold Griffin, David Wesley Griffin, Rosemary Yvonne Griffin, and Mitchell Harold Griffin. Harold remarried after his first wife Wilma's death to Alice.

Mildred Jean (Jones) Griffin's father Seywood Jones was a son of Seymour Nathan Jones born May 6, 1904, died June 15 1987, and Fannie Frances Mason born Jan. 12, 1906, died Sept. 13, 1991, married Aug. 23, 1924, both buried at Young Cemetery near Batesville, ARK; and a grandson of Alexander Jones born 1871 in Iowa, died in Wister OK, and Dora (Alice Udora Bannister) born in 1879 in Texas, died 1915 in Spiro Bottoms, Leflore Co., OK.)

Ronald Harold Griffin's wife Mildred Jean (Jones) Griffin's father Seywood Jones's obituary - Seywood Jones, 84, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 7, 1927, in Indianola, Okla., and was the son of Seymour Nathan and Fannie Frances (Mason) Jones. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and was a former member of the Jerseyville VFW. He had been employed for many years at West Central Sales in Jerseyville, and also did nursery, retaining wall, and orchard work. He married the former Helen L. Smithey on July 19, 1947, in Lepanto, Ark., and together they have shared 64 years together.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Jones of Jerseyville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred Jean and Ron Griffin of Brownstown, Joann and Bill Thode of Imperial, Mo., Frances A. and Terry Edgin of Monroe, Wash., and Sherry K. and Robert Robertson of Lebanon, Ohio; five sons, David Jones of Morrilltown, Ark., Thomas and Karen Jones of Otterville, Jerry and Lillian Jones of Wichita, Kan., James "Woody" and Karen Jones of Delhi and Charles and Kathy Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Flanningan of Cave City, Ark., and Brenda Anderson of Cabot, Ark.; three brothers, Billy Jones of New York, James Jones of Billings, Mont., and Douglas Jones of West Alton. Her survivors are her parents; two brothers, Ronald and David Griffin of Fieldon; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Ward of Jerseyville; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Coleman and Mrs. Gertrude Talley of Jerseyville. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was named as a memorial.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald, Robert and Dale Ward. I had heard she was from another state, and returned there after the marriage ended, and that they had a child, a daughter I believe, but I don't know if the information is correct, nor the name or date of birth of their daughter if they had a child.

My father's sister Anna Westfall remarried after the death of her first husband Wesley Charles Griffin to Raymond Bates who died as a result of a tragic mowing accident while working for the State Highway Department.

Lloyd Henry Kirchner's wife - Lyda Belle Kirchner Bielau, 86, retired educator, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 8, 1920, in Harrisburg to Rance and Opal (Rhoades) Davis. She married Lloyd Kirchner on June 18, 1948, in Alton. He died April 28, 1979. She married Hugo Bielau in 1997, and they lived in St. Louis until his death in 2005. She then returned to Jerseyville. She was a graduate of Shurtleff College and earned her master's degree in education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. A longtime educator, she taught in Bethalto, Grafton and Jerseyville, retiring from West Elementary in 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Deb Kirchner of Forsyth; two stepsons and their spouses, Lloyd and JoAnn Kirchner and Harold and Sue Kirchner, all of Otterville; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Davis Akin.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The Rev. Ed Haun officiated. Burial was at Noble Cemetery in Otterville. (1a) Jesse Benjamin Kirchner and Marie Josephine (Ahrling) Kirchner's daughter Charlotte Alvena (Kirchner) Rothe's obituary - Charlotte Alvena Rothe, 88, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at her home six miles east of Jerseyville. Charlotte was the daughter of the late Jesse Benjamin Kirchner and Marie Josephine Egelhoff Kirchner. She was born on March 16, 1923, in Jersey County, six miles east of Jerseyville on the same farm where she died. She was the oldest child of three with one sister, the late Doris Kirchner Cairns; and one brother, the late John O. Kirchner. In her youth, she attended Paradise School through eighth grade, worked on the family farm, and was employed at the shoe factory in Jerseyville. On June 14, 1941, Charlotte married John H. Rothe, who preceded her in death. They lived one mile east of Brighton for over 20 years, and they raised their daughters, Carol, Sharon and Linda. Charlotte was a full-time homemaker and John worked at Standard (later Amoco) Oil Co. In 1969, they moved back to the farm where Charlotte had grown up. As a devoted and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brighton for over 60 years, Charlotte taught Sunday school, helped sponsor youth groups, and served in the women's groups. She was a loving, caring wife and mother whose many interests included sewing, quilting, embroidery, cooking, canning, gardening, caring for the farm animals, caring for her flowers, keeping a daily log of life, and participating in the garden club and home extension activities.

Charlotte is survived by three daughters and three son-in-laws, Carol Nichol and Wayne Smith of Little Falls, Minn., Sharon and David Knepper of Jerseyville, and Linda and Paul Bishop of Madison, Wis.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Peter Nichol, wife, Makie Tam, and children, Sophia and Stella of San Francisco, Rachel Bishop, husband, Ben Boer, and children Charlotte Rose and Mia of Chicago, John Nichol, wife, Emily, and children, Abby and Caitlin of Minneapolis, Erin Bishop, husband, Jon Van Roo, and daughter Shannon of Madison Wis., Dana Bishop and husband, Josh Carter, of Shelburne, Vt., and Ben Bishop of Duluth, Minn. She is also survived by brother and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother and nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in law. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the First Presbyterian Church in Brighton. Burial will follow at the Brighton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Brighton.

Jesse Benjamin Kirchner and Marie (Ahrling) Kirchner's daughter Charlotte (Kirchner) Rothe's husband John H. "Bud" Rothe's obituary - John H. "Bud" Rothe, 69, died at 6:40 pm Friday, September 21, 1990, at home after a short illness. He retired in 1981 as a carpenter from Amco Oil Company in Wood River after 38 years of service. Born in Jersey County, he was the son of the late Otto F. & Lillie (Down) Rothe. He married the former Charlotte Kirchner on June 14, 1941, in St. Charles, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife; 3 daughters, Carol Nichol of St. Cloud, MN, Sharon Knepper of Oxford, Maxx, and Linda Bishop of Madison, WI; 6 grandchildren; 6 Sisters, Eileen Voorhees and Della Freeman, both of Brighton, Evelyn Mundy and Verna Hewitt, both of Godfrey, and Ina Lowis and Nina Darr, both of Piasa; and 5 brothers, Melvin and Frank Rothe, both of Brighton, Charles and Wilbur Rothe, both of Jerseyville, and Robert Rothe of Kane. Visitation is from 4-8 pm today at Targhetta Funeral Home in Brighton, and will continue from 8:30 am Monday until service time at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian church in Brighton. Rev. Dave Dennis will officiate. Burial is in Brighton cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church, where he was a member, or the American Cancer Society.

(2a) Jesse Benjamin and Marie (Ahrling) Kirchner's daughter Doris L. (Kirchner) Cairns's obituary - Doris L. Cairns, 85, of Jerseyville, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Jersey Community Hospital. She was born in Jerseyville May 8, 1925, the daughter of Jesse and Marie (Ahrling) Kirchner. She married Joseph W. Cairns June 14, 1945, in Jerseyville. He died April 28, 1994. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the 1st Presbyterian Church of Brighton. She loved to quilt. Survivors are a daughter, Karen Jo Cairns and her friend, Matt Fay, Jerseyville; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Kirsten Blackorby of Jerseyville; Matt's children, Marc and Marisa Fay; and a sister, Charlotte Rothe of Jerseyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, John Kirchner. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 1st Presbyterian Church of Brighton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be to 1st Presbyterian Church Lift Fund. (5) Charles and Alvena (Hooper) Kirchner's daughter Louesa L. (Kirchner) Wock, 92, of Jerseyville, died March 1, 1980 at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home, Jerseyville. She was born in Otterville on March 1, 1887, daughter of the late Charles H & Alvina (Hooper) Kirchner. She was the widow of Paul Wock, who died December 26, 1959.

Surviving are 1 son, Laverne Wock, Jerseyville; 1 brother, Walter Kirchner, Jerseyville; 3 grandchildren and 7 g-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 1 sister preceded her in death. Visitation and services were at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev Clay Noah Jr, officiated and burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to charity of choice.

Louesa L. (Kirchner) Wock's husband Paul Peter Wock, 76, retired farmer of English Township, died December 28, 1959 at Jersey Community hospital where he had been a patient for the past week. Final rites were held December 30, at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev Earl Dickey, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated and interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. He was son of the late John & Theresa (Drainer) Wock and was born in Jersey County, December 18, 1883.

Surviving are his wife, Louesa (Kirchner) Wock, Fieldon; 1 son, Laverne Wock, Jerseyville implement dealer; 3 granddaughters; 3 brothers, John, Edward and Louis Wock, Jerseyville; 3 sisters, Mrs Peah Jilek, and Miss Lena Wock, Jerseyville and Mrs Clara Wartman of Pompana Beach, FL.

Paul and Louesa (Kirchner) Wock's son Laverne Lewis Wock, 77, died June 8, 1990 at DePaul Medical Center, St. Louis. In 1975, he retired as a machine operator from Rotary Ram, Godfrey and later retired as co-owner of Wock's New & Used Furniture, Jerseyville in 1988. Born in Otterville, he was the son of the late Paul & Louise (Kirchner) Wock. he married Catherine (Grothaus) Wock on May 6, 1936, in Jerseyville. She survives.

Also surviving are 3 daughters, Betty Scott, Alton, Gayle Willis, Delhi and Pauline Daougherty, Hannibal, MO; 7 grandchildren; and 5 g-grandchildren. Visitation was from Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with rosary recitation. Jerseyville Moose Lodge 695, of which he was a charter member, conducted graveside rites. Funeral Mass was at Holy Ghost Church, Jerseyville with Rev William Hembrow as celebrant. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Jerseyville. Memorials may be given to American Heart Assoc or masses.

(6) Charles and Alvena (Hooper) Kirchner's son Frederick Kirchner was born 12-21-1884 and died 8-24-1940. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. He married Ida Bethel 11-8-1910 in Jersey County, IL. He died of a gunshot wound. I don't have any other information about Frederick Kirchner or his family.

(7) Charles and Alvena (Hooper) Kirchner had a daughter Dora Kirchner. I don't have any information about their daughter Dora Kirchner.

(8) Charles and Alvena (Hooper) Kirchner had another son who I have not been able to identify.
