My father's brother Jasper "Jap" Westfall was born in April 1907 in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL, the son of Jasper Mifflin Westfall and Frances (McCaulley) Westfall. He died 10-19-1997 In Alton, Madison County, IL. He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, Illinois. He was raised on his father Jasper Mifflin Westfall's farm south of Fieldon, Jersey County, IL with his brothers and sisters-my father Walter Edward Westfall, Alonzo Westfall, Floyd Westfall, Laura Westfall, and Anna Westfall. He married 1st Ruth McNish who was born 3-22-1911 in Missouri, and died 8-5-1974 at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Michael McNish (wife's name unknown). Before her marriage to Uncle Jasper, Aunt Ruth had a daughter Marie born 12-21-1927. Marie married James Webb, and they had a son James Webb. Marie died 10-14-1946 at age 18 in childbirth. She was buried in Grimes-Neely Cemetery West of Jerseyville, Illinois. My Uncle Jasper Westfall farmed in the Fieldon, IL area.

My father's brother Jasper Westfall remarried after his first wife Ruth (McNish) Westfall's death to Helen Goldia Ruckman (1907-2002) 6-23-1975 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Frank and Stella (Gelkerson) Ruckman. She was married before to Charles H. Pilger. He died in 1969. She had a son Jack Bailey of Meadowbrook, IL.

My Uncle Jasper Westfall's obituary - Jasper Westfall, 90, of Alton, died Oct. 19, 1997, in Saint Anthony's Health Center in Alton. He married Helen Ruckman, who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Jack Bailey of Bethalto' and 13 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. Services were through Gent. My Uncle Jasper Westfall's first wife Ruth Josephine (McNish) Westfall's obituary - Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Josephine Westfall of 636 Oakwood Ave., in Alton were conducted bt Reverand Dorcie Hill at the Healing Waters Temple Aug. 7. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. She passed away at the age of 63 at St. Lukes Hospital in St. Louis on Aug. 5, 1974. She was born March 22, 1911 in Missouri, the daughter of Michael McNish (mother's name unknown). Survivors include her husband Jasper Westfall; two brothers, Allen McNish and Weltz NcNish of Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Emilie) Andrews of Kansas and Mrs. Maude Winters of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, a daughter, a son and one granddaughter.

My uncle Jasper Westfall's 2nd wife Helen Goldia (Ruckman) Westfall's obituary - Helen Goldia Westfall, 95, died at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Eldercare Nursing Home in Alton. She was born May 28, 1907, in Alton to Frank and Stella (Gelkerson) Ruckman. She married Charles H. Pilger in 1937 in Alton. He died June 14, 1969. She married Jasper Westfall June 23, 1975, in Bethalto. He died Oct. 19, 1997. She was employed at Walnut Grove Dairy in Alton for several years, did volunteer work at McArthur Senior Center for 25 years and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto of several senior centers. Her love of fishing and traveling will long be remembered. Surviving are a son and his wife, Jack and Norma Bailey of Meadowbrook; three grandchildren, Sharon Bailey of Witt, Ill., Aaron Bailey of Worden and Eric Bailey of Alton; three great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Dylan Bailey of Worden and Alax Bailey of Alton; other extended family; and many dear friends. Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lemuel Ruckman, and twin sisters, Millie Scribner and Lillie Ruckman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bethalto, and will continue at 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. Pastor Willard Meyer will officiate. Private burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church building fund.

Frances (Talley) Westfall Crumley's 2nd husband Bobby Lee Crumley's obituary - Bobby Lee Crumley, 71, died at 8:22 p.m. on Wednesday July 23, 2008, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born July 14, 1937, in Elco, Ill., the son of Archie and Hester Meisenhimer Crumley. He married Frances Talley Westfall January 5, 1974, and she survives. He retired in July 1999 after 40 years at Olin Corporation in the storeroom Department T-400. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Jerseyville Moose. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.
He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Davis and her sons Ryan and Zach Davis of Wood River, and Linda Brickhouse and her son Alex of East Alton; two step-sons, Allen Westfall and his wife Beth of Alton and their children Lance Westfall and Allen Jr. and his wife, Kim of Alton, and their children Jeremy Meletti and Ryan Rauscher and daughter Bethany Westfall, George "Terry" Westfall and his wife Julie of Godfrey and their daughter Jennifer Haselhorst and her husband Joe; three stepdaughters, Jeanne Lacy and her husband Dennis of Jerseyville, and their children Missy and her husband Scott Schonasky and their son Josh, Jason Merideth and his daughter Selena, Peggy Rittenhouse, and Sandy Maragha and her husband Ahmed of Plainfield, and their children, Nadia, Rhonda, Sarah, Farrah and Moudy; a brother Don Crumley and his son Donny and his wife Olivia.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his stepfather Arlan Miller, a brother Jim Crumley, a step-son Harry Westfall and two sons-in-law, Joe Rittenhouse and Bill Merideth. She was born 7-9-1934, and died 6-7-92. She was buried in Noble Cemetery in Otterville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Troy and Lucille (Ridenour) Pace. Matthew and Marion Lucille (Pace) Westfall had 6 children-Christie Westfall died in infancy 7-22-1962, buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL, Karen Westfall, Mike Westfall, Jackie Westfall, Randy Joe Westfall (deceased) died 4-23-1986, an army veteran, buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL, and Mark Westfall who married Josephine Vail, the daughter of Paul and Josephine (Scott) Vail. On this page I would like to give you some more detailed information about my Uncle Floyd Westfall's family. Uncle Floyd was my father's youngest brother. Uncle Floyd was born 4-26-1914 in Otter Creek Township, Jersey County, IL, the son of Jasper Mifflin Westfall and Frances (McCaulley) Westfall. He died 6-3-1991 in Gillespie, Macoupin County, IL. He was born and raised on his father Jasper Mifflin Westfall's farm south of Fieldon, Jersey County, IL with his brothers and sisters-my father Walter Edward Westfall, Alonzo Westfall, Jasper Westfall, Laura Westfall, and Anna Westfall. He married Bertha E. Wanick (born 7-25-1918, died July 28, 2008) on 6-15-1935, and they had 2 children-Floyd Jr. (Sonny), and JoAnn. Bertha is the daughter of Julius and Lula Cornelius Wanick, and has 3 sisters-Alberta, Martha, and Mary (deceased), and one brother Robert. Bertha's father Julius Wanick was born in Taylorville, IL and was the son of John and Rose Ann (Hatfield) Wanick. John Wanick was a Civil War Veteran, and is buried in the Taylorville area. Uncle Floyd and Aunt Bertha are buried in Grimes-Neely Cemetery 4 miles west of Jerseyville, Illinois on Illinois State Route 16.

My Aunt Bertha (Wanick) Westfall's obituary - Bertha E. Westfall, 90, died at 7:58 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Heritage Manor in Gillespie. She was born July 25, 1918, in Eldred to Julius and Lula (Cornelius) Wanick. Her marriage to Floyd N. Westfall took place June 15, 1935, in Jerseyville. She was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie and a volunteer at the Gillespie Caring Center.
Survivors include seven grandchildren, Dan Brown, Randy Brown, Michael Westfall, Jamie Westfall, Jason Westfall, Brenda, and Donna Palicka; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Lyle Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Floyd Westfall Jr.; and one daughter, Joann Brown. Visitation will be from 10 until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Monsignor Larry Auda will officiate. Burial will be at Grimes Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Sonny was married on (7-27-1957) to Mary Ann Rushton (born 10-14-1940) the daughter of Virgil Rushton (died Apr. 1964) of German ancestry, and Helen Rybitsky Rushton (born 1-15-1913). Sonny and Mary had 5 children-Brenda Jean Westfall (born 3-8-58), Donna Marie WEstfall (born 5-22-59), Michael Brian Westfall (born 5-2-62), James Allen Westfall (born 7-1-64), and Jayson Floyd Westfall (born 7-16-70). Floyd Jr. (Sonny) is buried in Grimes-Neely Cemetery 4 miles west of Jerseyville, Illinois on Illinois State Route 16.

(1a) Floyd "Sonny" and Mary Ann (Rushton) Westfall's daughter Brenda Jean Westfall was born 3-8-1958. She married on 10-16-76 William George (born 7-21-58) the son of Dale Debolt (born 12-26-36) and Lieta (Bartram) (born 9-11-40). Lieta's parents were George William Bartram and Esther Mae (Monroe) Bartram. Brenda's husband William (Bill) was killed in a tractor rollover March 24, 2007 on their farm they had bought 3 months earlier in Southwest Missouri.�Brenda sold the farm where he was killed and bought a new house in town in Neosho, MO.
William and Brenda had 4 daughters-Jeannie Lynn, Angela Dawn, Shelly Renae, and Sara Mae.

They are the parents of 2 sons Quintin Luke Mullen born-11-11-99, and Caleb Floyd Mullen born 1-29-02, and 2 daughters Reagan Marie Mullen born 6-9-04, and Carrington Elise Mullen born 9-19-2008. They live in Springdale, Arkansas.
(2aa) William and Brenda's second daughter Angela Dawn was born 11-7-80. She married Michael Lee Carroll on 11-14-98 and they have 2 daughters Ana Jewel Carroll born 8-8-2000, and Natalie Grace Carroll born 12-15-02. They live in Springdale, AR.
(3aa) William and Brenda's daughter Shelly Renae was born 11-30-82. She married Keith Sayers 2-15-2008 and they have 2 sons Noah William Sayers born 7-29-10 and Aiden Eli Sayers born 11-10-2011. They live in MO.
(4aa) William and Brenda's daughter Sara Mae was born 10-31-83. She married William Alexander Miteff 7-9-2011.

(2) Uncle Floyd and Aunt Bertha's daughter JoAnn was born May 18, 1941 and died June 1, 1997 and was married to Clarence Lyle Brown and they had 2 sons-Daniel Eugene and Randel Lyle. JoAnn's husband Lyle remarried after JoAnn's death to Bea and they now live on 3 or 4 acres in Dorchester, IL.

He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. He was raised on his father Jasper Mifflin Westfall's farm south of Fieldon, Jersey County, IL with his brothers and sisters-my father Walter Edward Westfall, Jasper Westfall, Floyd Westfall, Laura Westfall, and Anna Westfall. He had 9 children-2 from his first wife Martha Thomas-Lilly Irene Westfall and Goldie Helen Westfall, and 7 children from his 2nd wife Frances Ellen "Fanny" Thomas-Lonnie Westfall Jr., Donald Westfall, Phillip Westfall, Paul Westfall, Francis Westfall, Viola Mae Westfall and Geraldine Westfall.

Robert Broeder officiated and burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. A self employed carpenter, Mr. Feyerabend was born January 13, 1898 in Jersey County, son of the late Henry & Mary (Elfgen) Feyerabend. He was a WWII veteran of the army. He and Goldie (Westfall) Feyerabend were married in 1944 in St. Charles, MO; They had no children. They were both buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL.

Goldie (Westfall) Feyerabend's obituary - Goldie Helen Feyerabend, 73, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Alton on Dec. 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Martha (Thomas) Westfall. Her husband, Carl Feyerabend, died April 23, 1984. Surviving are a sister, Lillie Hetzel of Tampa, Fla.; a half sister, Esther Chapman of Benld; and a half brother, Lonnie Westfall of Ocala, Fla. Three half brothers, Phillip, Donald and Paul Westfall, preceded her in death. There will be no visitation. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Gubser Funeral Home of Jerseyville was in charge of arrangements.

A self employed carpenter, Mr. Feyerabend was born January 13, 1898 in Jersey County, son of the late Henry & Mary (Elfgen) Feyerabend. He was a WWII veteran of the army. He is survived by his wife, Goldie (Westfall) Feyerabend, whom he married in 1944 in St. Charles, MO; 2 brothers, William of Chicago and Leslie of St. Louis; 3 sisters, Alma Habing of St. Louis, Marie Wock of Jerseyville and Lucille Maloney of Edwardsville. His parents and 5 brothers preceded him in death. Memorials may be given to Emphysema Foundation.

He married Deloris Beula Talley in 1951, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Parker) Talley, and they had a son Dwight Lee Westfall born 5-6-1963 and daughter Donna Jean Westfall born 5-1-1959 who live in the Alton IL area. Their son Dwight Lee Westfall Sr. is married and has a son Dwight Lee Westfall Jr. born 5-23-1985. Dwight Lee Westfall Sr.'s son Dwight Lee Westfall Jr. and Bobbi Jo Sanders have a daughter Makaela Jean Westfall born 6-13-2003. Donald Westfall worked at the flour mill in Alton. He died suddenly of cardiac arrest. After Donald Westfall's death his wife Deloris remarried to Leon Stone in 1985. Deloris died 11-15-2001 in Alton, IL after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL.

Born Sept. 30, 1931, in Greene County, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Gertrude E. (Parker) Talley. She was self-employed as an Avon representative and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose. She married Donald L. Westfall in 1951. He died in 1982. She married Leon Stone in 1985 in Jerseyville. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Dewight L. Westfall Sr.; a daughter, Donna J. Westfall; a grandson, Dewight L. Westfall Jr.; four sisters, Lola (Talley) Dunham of Jerseyville, Ilene (Talley) Moore of Granite City, Francis (Talley) Crumley of Alton and Beatrice (Talley) Ebker of Jerseyville; and two brothers, George L. Talley Sr. of Jerseyville and Charles E. Talley of Carrolton. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marvel (Talley) Brooks, Armeda (Talley) Dunham, Vivian (Talley) Akers and Wilma (Talley) Griffin. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey. Visitation will continue from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Doloris B. (Talley) Westfall Stone's 2nd husband Leon S. "Stoney" Stone Sr.'s obituary - Leon S. "Stoney" Stone Sr., 80, died at 6:37 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton. He was born in Brighton on May 28, 1930, and was the son of Christy John and Elizabeth (Kruse) Stone, now deceased. Growing up, he attended the rural schools and assisted on the family farm. He was an electrician, having worked for several area contractors, retiring from Jun Construction Company of Godfrey.
Surviving are one son, Leon S. Stone Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Alton; two daughters, Luann Mikoff of Alton and Teri Bullock and her husband, Donald, of Charlotte, Mich., his former wife, Bonnie Stone of Godfrey; six grandchildren; Jessica and Jacob Stone of Alton, Anthony "Tony" Mikoff of Alton, Andrea Mikoff of Godfrey, Kristen Strychar of Dearborn, Mich., and Bryan Bullock of Minneapolis; a great- grandson, Andrew Strychar of Dearborn; one brother, Virgil Stone, and his wife, Barbara, of Jerseyville; four sisters, Roberta Burleson, Dorothy Eisenreich, Mary Lou Moore and husband, Charles, all of Alton, Shirley Berry and her husband, Paul, of Granite City; a former son-in-law, Steve Mikoff of Hillview; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doloris Westfall Stone; two brothers, William and Melvin Stone; and a sister, Marjorie Miller. Lonnie Marshall Westfall Jr.'s 1st wife Ida Mae (Pickett) Westfall Young's obituary - Ida Mae Young, TACOMA, Wash. -- Ida Mae Young, 73, died of cancer Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Tacoma. Born in Jerseyville, she was a daughter of the late Leo L. Pickett and the late Dorothy Westfall. She was employed in the housekeeping department at Alton Memorial Hospital, where she retired. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Hardin of Sacramento, Calif., and Janet Brundige of Eatonville, Wash.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Haynes-Mogen of Mesa, Ariz. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Westfall; a daughter, Joyce Ann Westfall; and two brothers, E. Laverne Pickett and L. Wayne Pickett. The body was cremated. II "Dody," born August 24, 1937, in Plymouth, Mass., passed away from Lewy Body Dementia, April 23, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyfton Orlin and Sarah Elizabeth Owens Doten. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lorraine "Raine" Doten; son, Dody and his wife, Wendy; son, John and his wife, Lisa; son, Chris; and granddaughter, Danielle, all of Tampa. He is also survived by his two brothers, Elmer Lawrence of Abington, Mass., and Clyfton Orlin of Plymouth; his uncle, George and his wife, Ramona Card Doten of Portland, Conn.; as well as a brother and sister-in-law; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Dody graduated from Plymouth High School in 1955, and then spent the summer playing the bass fiddle on Block Island, R.I., where he met his future wife. Dody then joined the U.S. Air Force as a radar operator. Upon leaving the Air Force, he furthered his education by attending Berkley Preparatory School in Boston, Mass., and Bedford Institute of Technology in New Bedford, Mass. Dody and Raine moved to Florida, where he went to work for GTE. He retired as a system engineer in 1997. Since retirement, as well as throughout his life, he has played the bass fiddle for several bands. He most recently participated with the Swing Sound Orchestra, The Sun City Center Big Band, The Ten O' Clock Band and the Blue Notes. A celebration of life service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2011, at Bethel Assemblies of God, 1510 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa.
