Chapter 15-My Classmates & Other Fieldon, Otter Creek Township, and Jersey County, IL Families (Continued)
Some of the teachers at the Jerseyville high School I remember, were teachers Warren Greene (Biology), Alex Guinn (Algebra, Geometry), Mary Heitzig (English), Sarah Price (English) who encouraged me to write, Catherine Parsell (Math), Mr. Bell (physics) my only D grade in high school, Harold Ballard (Chemistry, Dorothy Bandy (Latin), and Raymond Bersche (Spanish, History). The Principal was Scott H. Courier.
I also remember my school bus driver of many years, Harold Krueger, who had a farm in the Fieldon area. He drove the Fieldon Hollow route that went past where I got on the bus at our mailbox about mile from our farmhouse. He was a very nice man. He always spoke to me when I got on the bus. My mother's cousin, Carl Haushalter, also drove a school bus on the Fieldon to Jerseyville route when I went to high school. He had a farm east of Jerseyville. His brother Ernest Haushalter also drove a school bus in the Jerseyville area.
